External bathroom made the stay uncomfortable

We accidentally booked a room with a private external bathroom, which turned out to be much more inconvenient than we expected. (Yes, I did not read carefully enough). Every time someone needed to use the toilet, we had to leave the room, walk past the reception, the breakfast area, and the main entrance before unlocking our private bathroom with a key. With two young children, this was especially uncomfortable and offered very little privacy, as there were always other guests around.

The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

Breakfast was acceptable, but fairly average and nothing special.

Overall, the hotel was okay, but at around €300 per night, we did not feel the price matched the level of comfort. The external bathroom arrangement in particular significantly reduced our enjoyment of the stay.

Good value at a great location
Pros:

In an historic building. Located on a lovely plaza, where our kids could play as we ate dinner. Very close to restaurants for meals and drinks. Friendly staff, very flexible. It was pretty close to the bus station.

Cons:

The breakfast buffet was fine, but could have included more healthy options.

Staff very helpful - we arrived very late and they arranged for us to access the room, and breakfast for the morning. Very nice setting, lots of character. Location great for bus station, only 10 minutes walk.
