We just returned from a 5 night visit to La Bougainvillea. From the time we arrived to the moment we left, it was just spectacular. Everyone went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable-they truly have the most kind and hospitable staff.
The resort is small so never feels crowded. It overlooks the most beautiful stretch of sugary pinkish white sand with direct beach access. It also has a beautiful infinity pool that we took advantage of (and the poolside drink service :)) It is also only about 10 minutes from Governor’s Harbor, if you need to go into town for anything. It is a little over an hour from the Gene’s Bay dock/preachers cave/Blue hole. The drive is easy though and the landscape is just stunning-and the amentities of the hotel make the drive well worth it!!
We booked a Queen Garden room and it was perfect for my family of 4 (2 kids ages 17 and 10). The bed was heavenly, and I slept like a baby every night. The mattress was so comfortable and the sheets were a cool, crisp cotton-starched to perfection. I have to give props to the house cleaning staff because not only are the bed immaculately everyday. The room was also large enough that we didn’t feel like we were on top of each other which was nice! There is a mini-fridge and coffee maker in the room and the shower was nice and large. The room also felt light and airy.
The restaurant was delicious and we ate there quite a bit. The service was great and I really appreciated that they were so conscious of my daughter’s peanut allergy and all of the servers took note of that at all of the meals.
I had considered other hotels on the island , but so glad I ended up with LaBougainvillea. It is truly a gem!
Exceptional service. Very welcoming and friendly manager Sanom went above and beyond - even sent help for us when our rental car broke down on way to hotel.
Also Daniella our bartender was very friendly and helpful.
We stayed here towards the end of our stay at Eleuthera. Mr. Sonam, Terez, and team took utmost care of us, even planning an impromptu birthday celebration for my dad's birthday with no notice. The lunch there was wonderful, they prepared dishes not on the menu to cater to dietary needs for some people in our group.
It's a small boutique hotel so never overcrowded - the hotel beach was as good as private and they had set up everything for us outside to enjoy it. They provided us with snorkels and kayaks, etc.
All in all great experience!
Our evening started out great. We ordered drinks and appetizers. The appetizers were great, we had plantain and grouper and shrimp ceviche. After that, it went down hill. We were the last to be served our dinner. The waitress came to our table and told us the “chef” prepared the nachos with chicken instead of beef and that was the delay. The nachos consisted of Tostitos with lots of cheese and a little bit of beef. My husband ordered the quesadilla without black beans, it came with black beans. The others on two orders were the bowls. Two dried pieces of dark meat with little ramekins of corn, beans, and salsa.
The waitress or chef did not apologize for the delay in our food and it was mediocre at best. Won’t go back.
One of the most beautiful sites and accomodations that anyone can ask for. The services were amazing and there was not one bad experience. The beach is stellar and the pool is magnificent. Absolutely amazing!
Absolutely a wonderful relaxed Experiance. Entire staff was very friendly. I had the best massage I have ever had in my life and I have had many many all over . The beach is fantastic, you feel you're on a deserted island. I 100% would go back. I have to say we dined out everywhere but the food was fabulous at their restaurant. The fish tacos were outstanding.
I had such a wonderful experience thanks to our server, Precious! From the moment we were seated, she made us feel welcome and taken care of. She was attentive without being overbearing, always checking in at just the right times. The service was fast, friendly, and professional. She also was knowledgeable about the menu and offered great recommendations that made our appetizers even better. It’s rare to find someone who makes the whole lunch experience so seamless and enjoyable. I’ll definitely be coming back again and again I’ll be asking for Precious again! Highly recommend!
We had an unexpectedly wonderful experience at this resort! The property, the people, the amenities, and the location were all on point. Qui, the general manager, went above and beyond to accommodate us and follow through on some special requests. I highly recommend this property!
Very nice and friendly staff
The GM, Que Thompson was simply amazing. She was warm, friendly, very helpful, professional, efficient and went over and above to make us feel at home. And the Manager (Sonam) and the rest of the staff were amazing too. With only 1 restaurant on the property, and for a 5 night stay, the menu got tiring. And not many other restaurants close by. Otherwise a great experience at La Boug.

Staff was always present and available to assist. Property is fantastic, miles of beautiful beach with nearly nobody around.
There is never disturbance, anywhere. Perfect place where to enjoy quietness and relax. Room was spacious and very clean. Very recommended
La Bougainvillea was an excellent choice for my fiance and me to enjoy my birthday. It is centrally located on the island, which worked great for us because we have family in the South and spent time there as well as in the North.
The grounds are secluded and private. We drove up a hill to reach the property. We were surprised to see an EV charging station on-site; immediate kudos for that, as we believe electric vehicles on the island are the future.
Anyway, the lobby area is quaint and quiet. We were greeted by Q, who is a wonderful lady. She is the general manager, and she made us feel welcome immediately. She is very warm and personable.
The infinity pool is beautiful, the bar and restaurant are beachfront, and the service was great.
We stayed in an ocean-view room, which was very romantic. It is a room where couples can connect. The shower is in the room but in a very aesthetically pleasing position. There's no TV in this room, but watching your partner shower can be entertaining and interactive enough. :)
My favorite experience by far was the beach. The sand was soft and untouched, the water was so blue and beautiful, and we had the beach to ourselves for hours. If you want to feel like you're on a secluded island for real, then this is the place for you. The peace and serenity was unmatched.
The food was delicious, too. It was a tad expensive, like $34 for a burger, BUT it was tasty and fresh.

Me and my husband had an incredible time. I also want to preface this review that we both also work in the hospitality/tourism industry. While we loved the property, the restaurant, the beach, the location, and the massage the staff was the absolute best and were the ones that brought all together. Small boutique hotel. Perfect spot to unwind and relax
The service and facilities were not at all what one should receive for the cost paid. Our family had two adjacent rooms and we both intermittently ran out of hot water: apparently there was only one small hot water tank for the two rooms. Our smart locks to access our remove contained easily figured out combinations. We had to often remind room service to renew all bath and hand towels, and after the first day they did not replenish coffee cups or pods. Recreational facilities such as kayaks and stand up paddle board were damaged and in very poor condition. The restaurant food and room bedding, etc. were quite acceptable, however overall this was poor value for your money. I would not recommend.
