Hạ Long Starlight Hotel

Hotellet var ok, men EF stadig vred over at vi ikke fra hotellet var blevet informeret om at der kunmåtte være 2 personer på værelset, vi havde bestilt 1 værelse til 3 personer

Staff was accommodating and helpful. Hotel bar was reasonable and conveniently located. Pretty sure the food at the restaurant was sourced out to local establishments. Laundry service was quick and affordable but two shirts and a pair of socks came back with stains.

Basic room, not ideal location but affordable. Very loud whilst sleeping, friendly enough staff but amenities are simple. Be aware that the location isn't particularly convenient to anything if you are only walking around, you will need taxis to see any of the bay. We were on a budget trip but were disappointed by the experience.

They helped with booking trips and gave tips about stuff to do. Rooms are nice, great value. Recommended for couples and budget travellers

No complementary water, like all other hotels. Was clean, had WiFi.

Starlight is a great hotel, we were very pleasently surprised considering the cost! It's nothing special but the rooms are modern, comfortable and have everything you need for a good stay. The receptionist is amazing and so helpful with anything and everything you need - she even ordered delicious local food for us to enjoy in our rooms after a long day in Halong Bay! The surrounding area has plenty of bars and restaurants. Would highly recommend Starlight.

We stayed overnight on our wat to Cat Ba. The room was nice and comfortable. I found the service to be unfriendly and unhelpful. All the rooms connect to a central staircase going down to the reception. The placed a family in two rooms, one next to us and one kitty corner. The children were running and screaming until 9:30 at night. Both my husband and I let gem know it was too noisy but the hotel staff did nothing until we complained. I couldn't understand did until the person on reception was chatting with the person up on the forth floor. Rather than take a taxi to the ferry, the staff drove us for the same cost but his driving was scary and we are familiar with the driving in Vietnam. So staying here, you shouldn't expect any peace or any quality service

Excellent little 3 star. Good value for money. Helpful staff. The afternoon boat trip on Halong Bay was lovely despite low season and the choice of cave visit at the end of the tour was stunning. Nice 4 hours all the photo ops I needed. Pick up and drop off from Starlight but no add ons like kayak or lunch = £14. Job done.
