Everything was great,the stay and cleanliness.There was no air conditioning.

The hotel portal colonial is a very nice, family run hotel. The rooms are spacious with air conditioning and a free breakfast. The property is safe, secure and quiet with a pool. It is walking distance to many stores and restaurants. It is a great place to stay.

There was no air conditioning. The jalousie windows wouldn’t close, so there was always outside noise. The TV didn’t have many channels and no instructions. I had to buy my own soap, shampoo and conditioner.

Friendly staff, accommodated us when we came in on a late flight. Convenient location in a nice neighborhood

This place is family run and simple clean quiet place. They are friendly and helpful. For the price I’d be there again!

Great staff and excellent breakfast my only complaint was the toilet seat had a broken pin that held the seat together and they claimed i broke it even though i didn't and they charged me 20 us dollars to have it fixed but never fixed it..so it stayed broken for the rest of my stay.

Great budget hotel in a really good location, easy walking distance to Avenida Escazu mall. The owner is lovely, and The free breakfast in the morning was great. Coffee, orange juice, fruit, and a choice of eggs or pancakes. The pancakes were excellent. Great shower. Bed comfy but slightly firmer than I like. The only negative was that the AC was a bit noisy. When I’m back in San Jose, I would definitely stay here again.

This Hotel is absolutely incredible! Close to everything. The staff is very friendly & kind! There is great breakfast. Perfect place! Small Hotel ... not huge & overwhelming! 5 stars!! Will definitely be going back to this Hotel! 👌

Hotel portal colonial Is an excellent B&B at a reasonable price. It is very clean and in an excellent neighborhood. It is only a few blocks from fast food restaurants and some reasonably nice restaurants. Just in case you forgot anything with your trip it’s only a few blocks from Walmart and a nice mall. Lucrecia and her staff are extremely helpful with Anything you need, from getting you day trips around the area to Getting your laundry done or most anything else you need. They are always smiling and happy. You couldn’t ask for a better place or better people.

Staff was very helpful and the room and common areas are clean. Curtains could be replaced with blackouts and ceiling could replace the floor fan which much too powerful for the size of this small room. No protector on the mattress or on the pillow.

It was great, quiet and very private

No TP n bathroom. Was not there for long. Got there late after 11:00 pm and the hotel was shut down. The desk clerk did let me in and got me checked in. Was not expecting much but toilet paper in the room is a given.

Great small hotel - more like a commercial bed and breakfast. Located in a suburb of San Jose CR - Escazu in San Rafael. Very nice area. Food in the area is excellent whether at Tippico (local food) or Italian or American. Close to highway, shopping mall and local shopping.
