A Nightmarish Stay: Unbelievable Harassment, False Accusations, and Retaliatory 4 AM Wake-Up Calls
Pros:

Our 3-night stay (July 26–29, 2026) at this [Holiday Inn Express & Suites Ithaca] property was an absolute nightmare that no family should ever have to endure.

From day one, a front desk employee named Cam displayed unhinged hostility and unprofessionalism. When we politely asked him to check the freezing cold pool water for our children, he lied about the temperature, mocked us, and dismissively told us that nobody else complained. He also intentionally locked us out of the gym out of spite. When my husband asked for the manager's contact information on that very first day, Cam flatly refused to provide it.

Because my husband reported Cam’s extreme misconduct to corporate instead, Cam targeted us with malicious retaliation and a personal grudge. The situation reached a terrifying level on our third day while I was alone with my three young children, as my husband was not present. Because the front desk was constantly unattended, I briefly looked into the kitchen area for hot chocolate. Suddenly, Cam appeared and publicly humiliated me, falsely accusing me of theft and treating me like a common criminal right in front of my terrified children. When I confronted him about his behavior, he became aggressive, threatened to call the police, and forcefully snatched clean towels right out of my hands. My children witnessed the entire horrifying ordeal and were left paralyzed with fear and deep emotional distress.

The culmination of this malicious retaliation occurred on our checkout morning: **our room received a deliberate, automated wake-up call at 4:00 AM**, violently waking up our entire family.

Even more appalling was IHG Corporate Guest Relations (Case Managers JC and Joy). We spent hours detailing every single horrific event in long, thorough emails and repeatedly begged for a phone call, but **they completely ignored our pleas, refused to call us, and brushed off severe harassment, false accusations, and malicious retaliation as a minor "pool temperature issue,"** offering a meager 5,000 points while refusing to provide a meaningful investigation or a sincere apology.

Given that our child was recently admitted to Cornell University and we will frequently be visiting Ithaca, we are utterly horrified that this property—backed by an entirely negligent corporate office—operates with such zero accountability for staff misconduct and guest safety. Stay far away if you value your peace of mind and safety.

Clean room
Pros:

Friendly staff checked us in for a one night stay. Room was clean and all was well. Had two double beds in room, one of the mattresses should be replaced, uncomfortable compared to other in room. Complimentary Breakfast had many options.

Very bad and not as expected after paying good money for the stay (overall of 3 nights)

We arrived at 8 pm while traveling with 2 kids. The room that was given to us was not organized and ready. When approaching the front desk we were told that it is our problem, because we ordered with booking and not directly. No one will clean it and there are no other rooms available and if we want we can leave. After insisting, another guy came and helped us. He cleaned the room and only then we entered. Instead of having the room at 8pm we got it around 10pm with tired kids.
Although the first guy apologized later the feeling was awful and ruined the stay.

Great value and location.
Pros:

Location and parking were great. Staff was friendly and helpful. The room we were in was large and very comfortable as were the beds.

Cons:

The floors and carpet in our room were (and felt) dirty. The bottoms of my white socks were filthy after walking around for 5-10 minutes.
