Samalaju Resort Hotel

Room: room is clean. Bed is comfortable. I stayed for 3 nights, the first 2 nights had no hot water. Only on the 3rd night hot water is available. Toilet basin is clogged.
Facilities: gym condition is dated. Aircon not working, later they provide a fan. Machine condition not good.
Food is ok.

It is an excellent and quite scenic place. The staffs were extremely good and very very helpful and the manager as well.

Stunning location. No beach though. And that is it. Hotel is not maintained at all, bordering on being unsafe. Rooms dirty, equipment not in good order and not working. Staff are as help-full as they can be. But obviously limited by bad management. I asked a staff member if they are happy to work there. They could not answer me. Not recommended. This is becoming an embarrassment for the Sarawak state. Stay in Bintulu or Miri and travel if you have to work in and around Samalaju Industrial Park.

Chalet was a bit not well maintained, musty smell, dirty blinds, cabinets. can improve on that part.

Located by the sea inside the Samalaju industry park, spacious room and compound, all rooms come with window/view. Relaxing environment with sea view and breeze, but no beach. Cleanliness of the room need to be improved especially bathroom wall and shower glass panel. Weak phone signal and internet connection.

The hotel is nice and location is wonderful, near the rocky beach. Nevertheless the beach is off limit because of rough sea.
Chalet was spacious but some of the amenities like microwave was not working. The cleanliness could be better.

The hotel is too far from Bintulu and we re not informed clearly about that.
The food is nice and generous. The pool clean.
Building too old seems like dormitory.
The people are very nice.

Room looks new and breakfast was fine. Generally a great hotel for business purpose. Hotel is located in an industrial area and not suitable for tourist

생필품 구매를 위한 편의점이 없어 불편하였음.
외딴곳이라 주위에 물품을 구매할 만한 마트등이 없어 모두 준비해 가야할것 같음. 해변가 산책로가 없어 아쉬움이 많았음.

Stayed at the hotel for few days for business. When we arrived, the staff did not welcome us with a smile. Requested room amenities, but it was very slow response. Few hours only to pass one item. Cleanliness of the room very poor also. Overall, no need to come here. Not worth the effort to drive here. Better go to Miri instead. Will never come back to this hotel, ever again.

it was my first time there so I was a bit wary of how to go there. the signage along the road does help but it might be a problem for first timer if it is dark. hotel is well kept. The staff are friendly. room is spacious. i got one facing the pool. which is nice. the sounds of the waves are therapeutic. you want a quiet place to unwind. this is the place. the food is delicious although there is not much choice for breakfast/lunch.

Hotel is located inside the samalaju industrial area so we had to clear security on the way. Hotel was pretty good - new, generally well maintained. Pool was clean and decent food from the restaurant. Cable tv was down and their technician was on hand to resolve it pretty quick.

Buy some snacks before coming in, there are no shops in the vicinity.

Nice spacious room, very comfortable, great resort nice location right on the coast. The only disappointing thing was there was no access to the the beach, signs up saying no access due to crocodiles !!!

The resort was was well-maintained. Staff were friendly too. It's about an hour drive from anything though so make sure you've got all your supplies/ snacks before checking in. The view of the sunset from the pool area is beyond amazing.

Two of us siblings with our spouses and two children were on our way back from Mukah to Brunei. As we were about to reach the Samalaju junction towards Miri, and earlier we needed to find a rest room to answer nature's call, I suggested divert to Samalaju resort (I visited this resort before). Upon arrival, first thing obviously visited the rest room; after a look around and enquiring about the rates, we decided to stay the night instead of continuing our journey to Miri. We checked in two chalets. Each of us ordered different types of food - I must say was excellent and tasty and presentable. Evidently, there is no shops or mall to wonder around, but we were satisfied with the KTV.
Only one comment - the chalet that we were checked in has strong ordor of sewage... I believe coming from the scuppers in the shower room. Both doors had to be closed to prevent the strong ordor into the bedroom. Hope the management can do something to overcome the problem. Otherwise, I must say this resort is a good place to breakway from stress and relax.

Nice facility by the ocean, but signs warned not to actually go down the slope to the water. Room was spacious and clean, and everything worked with the exception of the shower drain the first night. This was fixed promptly, so that's a plus. Desk was good for working; plenty of electrical outlets for charging etc. Toward end of stay there was a slight odor of sewer back up in the mornings - not detectable in evening.
Restaurant was weak spot; staff does not seem to understand how to keep food hot. Arrived for breakfast daily at 630 (600 opening time) and most hot items were already cold including a big pile of "omelets" apparently made all at once and meant to last several hours. Was happy to arrive a few days when no omelets had been made, and I was able to rouse the staff to make some fresh ones. At dinner, cold French fries arrived next to freshly grilled meat. Restaurant service OK but not up to standard of the rest of the staff (front desk, laundry, security, etc.) which was excellent.

Our living room door lock no in good condition. Cant lock properly.
