Cuillin Hills Hotel

This is a very special place. All of the staff very friendly and knowledgeable. Great rooms, excellent location. Food was amazing. Special shout out to John for arranging the best bacon and egg sandwiches for our early drive out of town but to be honest this was just typical of the service we received the whole stay.

We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel...everything was perfect...the staff were especially helpful and very pleasant.
We will definitely visit again.

This was our first time staying here and we already decided that we will be back! Our stay was sadly only for one night, but everything was absolutely wonderful. The dinner menu is somewhat limited, but the food was delicious. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Best hotel we have ever stayed in! Luxury hotel, love all the little extras and attention to detail. It was quiet so got a free room upgrade and wow! The view from the room, the modern room and bathroom, everything is just amazing. Hotel staff are all very lovely and helpful, breakfast options are amazing and the food is just so fresh and tasty. Worth every penny, still got 1 more night here and looking forward to it, will definitely be back

Absolutely loved the stay, delicious breakfast, comfortable and clean rooms, friendly staff, gorgeous living room area and bar. Nice and quiet. Visited off season and price reflected. Would definitely visit again (perhaps with a more snow-worthy car!).

A long drive and a warm welcome at Cuillin Hills. This is a lovely hotel overlooking Portree on the Isle of Skye. It's the sort of place you could stay all day and take in the impressive views to the Cuillin hills, or if you're inclined to head off round Skye, it's a wonderful base for all the Island offers.
Bedroom was huge and comfortable, the hotel is very well appointed and maintained. Food and drink and service as good as the best hotels I've stayed in.

Excellent stay. Can’t fault the service. Food was exceptional. Only criticism is that 2 beds are put together to make one.

Our overnight stay at the hotel was simple superb! We had to change our date & this was done with ease, no bother to them at all. The setting is stunning even in stormy weather, the hotel was decorated so beautifully for Christmas, staff so friendly, room luxurious & spotlessly clean & both dinner & breakfast was delicious. Was so full after both meals!

Friendly staff supportive, patient, professional, efficient… just ooozes highland hospitality. Top location overlooking the harbour, so peaceful and within a short walk to Portree centre. The guest lounge with the crackling log fire, comfortable seating provided a memorable evening. The bedroom is spacious, incredibly well equipped, quality linen, comfortable bed.. an excellent nights sleep. Thoughful addition included nespresso virtuo including capsules varity if quality teas and a cheeky tunnocks chocolate biscuit. Menus for breakfast, lunch and evening meals featured local produce, seafood, meats, cheese, and imaginative vegetarian options too. The shared plates round the fireside with the twinkly Christmas decorations is a memory that will last for a long time. A truly special stay.

Hotel was beautiful. Close to town. Large rooms with comfortable bed and great size bathroom. Food was good and staff were all lovely. Highly recommend staying here.

We absolutely loved our experience at Cuillin Hills. It's close enough to Portree to walk into town and was just what we wanted: a luxury experience with the kindest, most helpful staff. Cuillin Hills was perfectly located near to Portree and a quick drive up to many outdoor adventures! It's situated with a spectacular view of Portree and the rooms were cozy, clean, and just what we needed.

The staff were the best part of the experience and I couldn't recommend this hotel enough. Anna went above and beyond to make sure we knew exactly what to expect from the hikes we'd chosen and even made recommendations about which ones to do on which days! She made sure we had everything we needed and was so helpful and kind. The restaurant/bar staff was also so knowledgeable about the town and had recommendations for experiences we couldn't miss -- so special thank you to Kyle, John, and Ollie on their expertise! It made our trip.

One of the most beautiful places we have ever visited. Every single staff member super friendly! It’s a tradition to stay late on Nov 30th and make the lobby i to a winter wonderland! Total Hallmark Christmas show vibes. Anna, food service manager, was amazing. Front desk staff, Daniella (sp) incredible! A must see during the holidays.

The grounds and setting were spotless and well maintained, reception was genuinely friendly and welcoming. We had a Turret room, which was absolutely gorgeous - thee bed was super comfortable - great mattress, plenty of pillows. The en suite bathroom was perfect - plenty of warm water at a great pressure so the showering experience was great. The bar is well stocked, and comfortable - the lounge area was a proper open fire for the cold nights. Food was absolute top drawer, with both the main evening meal and breakfast hitting the spot. We will return!

This is a hotel I will never forget. We stayed a week, didn’t want to leave! Special shout out to the staff, who were perfect! Attentive without being intrusive, providing help and information in a manner which was fresh, even though they must repeat the same things to countless guests! I truly felt valued throughout, like a special and welcomed guest. It was extraordinarily good customer care! The hotel is in a setting unmatched, the best view from the breakfast room and we were lucky with the weather to see the best of it! We will return for sure!

From the moment we walked in, we felt warmly welcomed. The location, view and amenities are top-notch and our room had a beautiful view of the sea. We arrived just in time for sunset and enjoyed teatime watching the sky change colors from pink to dark . Afterwards, we ate in the wonderful restaurant in the hotel.

Fantastic boutique hotel a few minutes away from Portree town centre. Fay was extremely helpful with our booking and was very welcoming when we arrived. The hotel is beautiful and cozy with a warm fire place in the lounge and plenty of quiet and comfortable sitting areas. Kyle at the bar was very friendly and gave us some great whisky and wine recommendations! Alex greeted us during dinner and breakfast and she was very attentive to us. Food was delicious and they bake the bread inhouse! Unfortunately we did not catch the name of the rest of the staff but they were all lovely and very professional – we received plenty of recommendations from them as well. We look forward to coming back soon next time we are in Skye!

Stunning hotel. The staff were very friendly, the food was awesome and the views of the Portree Harbour were fabulous. It is about a 15 mins walk downtown, which was ok. Definitely recommend.

I'm lucky with my work that I get to travel the world and stay in some amazing places but this hotel is my #1. Everything I enjoyed about my first visit 2 years ago was amplified. Perfectly sized double room with all the right amenities, professional and personable service from every team member, great food, phenomenal choice of whiskies (served by a barman who knows his stuff) and all in a location that (weather permitting) delivers views across the water to the Cuillin hills and Portree village. To me this hotel is perfect and a credit to the owners and team that run it.

We had a great stay at Cuillin Hills Hotel, even though one day it was literally a hurricane outside.
Our room overlooked Portree bay and the views were just amazing even in the bad weather. The room was clean as can be and the bed was heaven sent.
A great nights sleep, more pillows than you can imagine.
My husband did eat at the bar one night and said his food was very good. Breakfast was good
Staff were excellent. Would love to come back in better weather to be able to enjoy sitting on the lawn area out front with a drink overlooking the bay!!
