Professional property host/manager
The staff at the hotel were very helpful in assisting me to claim a refund for a stay cut short. Bhanu and Nathan were particularly helpful.
Great location, right next to Southwark station.
Bhanu treated us well and overall very good experience
Place so beautiful!! Strategic position, i suggest to book here. Thanks fir Bhanu fir his kindness! I came in London eith friends and watching a lot of shows in theatre
Good location. The most importantly very friendly staff ‘Nikita’ welcomes us and helps for a comfortable stay. We will be back!
Comfortable stay, spacious and clean room/facilites.
Bhanu at the reception was helpful.
Great location, proximity to train station also very useful (if you don’t mind the noise from the trains)
Stayed here for a regency ball I was attending. Amazing sized room, clean, though shower curtain has stains from previous guest, but overall fine. Decent location to the tube, friendly and helpful staff, especially with my shoe injury from dancing
The stay was perfectly fine. The rooms were cozy and comfortable. The bar cafe area was very tidy during dinner and breakfast both. Unfortunately we had to do early checkout. But the staff on reception Simran and Kieran we’re fabulous. They greeted us good bye and wished us safe journey back home. We will for sure visit again. Mind blowing team.
The location is very Perfect to stay. The staff on reception was good. And the food we ordered was good. Simran and keiren were very professional. We loved the location. And will come back definetely.
Great position, close to Waterloo. Clean room with small clean bathroom. I don't like shower curtains, would suggest to install shower Door...
Breakfast ok, nice restaurant area
Good quality for a convenienti price.
We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay at Travelodge Central Southwark (end of January 26) . The reception was welcoming and helpful and was available 24/7 The room was well heated , the shower room clean and there were milk , sugar and coffee provided. The reception was quite happy for us to have more milk and tea sachets when needed. While we were there it was good to see the shower head replaced- something which apparently gets done quite regularly. There is a TV in the room too.
The hotel is only 5 mins from Southwark tube station on the Jubilee line change at Waterloo for Southwark, out of the door and straight into Union street. There is also a bus 63 from Kings Cross which passes very near the hotel, convenient if there is not too much luggage.
There are Tesco express and Sainsbury's further down the road past Southwark tube station for quick snacks, a small shop and Pret a manger near the hotel and many restaurants serving a variety of cuisine for lunch or dinner.
A good and very affordable place to stay to visit London.
I had an incredible stay at this hotel! The location is perfect—within easy walking distance to all the major tourist spots, which made sightseeing a breeze. The entire staff was friendly and welcoming, but I want to give a special shout-out to the manager, Bhanu and Nathan the head staff leader. They was exceptionally accommodating and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. Highly recommended for anyone looking for great service in a prime location! Fantastic for families.
Location is great, room was clean. That's all the positives I have. When checking in we were asked to book a time for breakfast, which we did. When going for breakfast at our booked time, there was a massive queue, not being managed at all! We had to wait 40mins to be seated (which we were short on time as we had a train to catch) we were sat at a dirty table still covered in plates, when trying to get breakfast, there were no plates or forks, most of the food items had ran out, I understand this happens but it didnt seem to be being monitored at all. Customer toilets were dirty and had no soap the day we checked in or the following morning. When checking out we were asked how our stay was, after giving the above feedback the woman apologised and as a gesture of goodwill said she would send us a £100 voucher along with a survey via email . . . Guess what, the survey arrived but the voucher didn't. I will most definitely avoid this travelodge in future as clearly the staff just tell you what you want to hear to get rid of you!!
Perfect positioning for my requirements, less than 100m from destination. Staff all welcoming and friendly, with well kept clean rooms. As for value was the lowest price in the area but that didn't effect standard of rooms or service. Breakfast was also nice, have found it dry in other hotels but here it was spot on.
Nikita was really helpful on front desk! Thank you all of the team. I was in a twin bed room which was unexpected but asked for a room change and it was accommodated.
Cost effective and friendly service throughout. These folks deserve a pay rise! Good was good workout for the price and I was allowed to store my personal items briefly after checkout.
Everything was good. The location is perfect nearby the tube station of Soutwark.
The room was cleaned and the bed was comfortable.
I have had an extremely good experience in the travelodge southwark central london. mr Bhanu, The Assistant Manager in travelodge helped me a lot to navigate through the locations. I ma very greatful to him
Bhanu and Nathan has been professional and helped with location it was pleasure and helped with everything thank you so much
We enjoyed our stay. Spent 3 days. We got a room with a nice view and got refunded for the missed room booking.
Bhanu was very helpful in resolving our concerns
Stayed here for one night over the Easter weekend in April 2025. There was actually a group of us going to a friend's party on the Southbank, so we wanted somewhere not too expensive and relatively close by, so we all booked this hotel separately.
Location-wise, the hotel is literally a few minutes walk from Southwark Tube station which is ideal. Check-in was swift - I can't remember the staff member's name, but it was all efficient. There was only one lift working when we were there but luckily it wasn't too busy at the time I arrived.
The room was the usual Travelodge standard (if you've stayed in one, then...) and the bed was comfy, everything was clean and I slept well. The room had the usual desk, chair, kettle & tea and coffee, armchair, TV, and small shelves by the bed to leave your phone / a drink on, which works well.
The bathroom was compact, but fine. Everything was clean and the shower worked okay with good water pressure and temperature.
The hotel is next to an overground railway line (see the photo I uploaded - I had an eye-level view of the trains with the curtains open). Having said that, I slept okay, but a light sleeper might need ear plugs.
We didn't eat in the hotel - there's a pub on the other side of the railway line (30 seconds away) and an independent corner shop between the hotel and the Tube which has most of what you'd need.
Overall, this was exactly what we needed. If you book it expecting 5* luxury, then you're going to be disappointed - some of the fixtures and fittings are a little old, but everything works well and it was great value for Central London and a bank holiday weekend stay - I'll be back if the price is right.
