This is a private property owned by a sweet couple. The also have 2 cute friendly dogs. Do not expect much as CR is very simple. Amazing value your vacation will be enriched with the surroundings. Breathtaking view, the picture worthy pool, and a short drive to convenience. Tips- on top of a hill, will need the what’s app to communicate. This place doesn’t look much from the front, but enter the gate and you will be content.

I've booked a night in a luxury studio suite which was a hundred bucks a night and when I checked in, I was placed in economic room which is half of the luxury price, the bed was dusty, kitchen dirty (seemed like nobody booked it in a while) and most of all the place is infested with bees ... I discovered it in the morning when I went I to bathroom there was the whole nest chilling everywhere, mirror, walls, shower... .. the owner said it was Expedia fault that luxury studio isn't for rent anymore but there were people in it partying...and that Expedia should deal with the issue. As of now, I'm still waiting on the price difference refund between these two rents. I can say that I had such a nice welcome and lots of help from the young guy who works at the mansion and taking good care of it, he helped me to get in touch with the owner and even translated the needed information so all these stars go to him 👌 I don't recommend this place to anyone.
View from room was beautiful. Staff was friendly. Pool was unavailable. Door did not lock from outside had to take personal items with us each day. Bees invaded bathroom. NO HOT WATER. Was not informed before we got there that we were expected to not leave property before 7am and return no later than 10pm. Only stayed 2 nights instead of the 3 we booked due to not being able to shower due to no hot water.
The whole experience was seriously disappointing:
- I had to wait nearly 10 minutes in the street to be able to get in, in spite of informing well in advance of my arrival time;
- communication was via WhatsApp and very unresponsive;
- I had to insist that the reservation was made for two persons and there was no reason to want to charge me for one extra person;
- I was given a room that was below the category I had paid for and it is only after reviewing the details that I could claim what I had paid for;
- altough there was a sitting area, it was in a common area and not the private one appearing in the pictures of the studio;
- there was no hot water in the room, and after spending over 30 minutes and many WhatsApp messages to get this resolved, I was told I would have to use a common bathroom;
- overall, the maintenance and cleanliness of the place left very much to desire, including with cockroaches in the hallway, and had nothing to do with any concept of luxury;
- the toilet seat was totally worn out and neglected (I have a piture ready for posting);
- finally, cherry on the cake, upon checking out we were told that we had left one towel "very dirty", which I doubt very much.
Great unbelievable view. Should offer more daily towels...ect... also have drivers to provide rides down the mountain when guests want to go out. Should organize the outdoors to be more inviting to guests.
The staff is very friendly, polite and attentive. Wifi is good. But the bathroom was never private. In fact it is shared. They need to improve their communication there or clarify it. I went in thinking it was private. Also it doesn't have hot water. These are just tips to improve because the hotel is spectacular
The view from this property is amazing and is the reason we chose it. We were not, however, prepared to be scolded by the caretakers for staying out too late when we got home from dinner at 11 pm. We arrived late, went out to dinner, and were soundly scolded for arriving back at the hotel after 10. No cool.

El personal es muy amable y tiene muy buena disposicion.
La habitacion estaba limpia y era simple pero confortable, con ventilador y tv cable.
El hotel tiene buen acceso a internet en las areas comunes y una cocina amplia para cocinar. Tambien una piscina que no pude disfrutar porque no hacia tanto calor.
Si visitas Costa Rica, no recomiendo mas de una noche en san jose. Hay muchos lugares que ofrecen mejores atractivos que ver que la capital.
The only real positive about this place is the view of San Jose. But that view comes at the cost of being a good 10 miles away, up in the hills. To go into town requires a drive of at least 20 minutes. When my Uber dropped me off upon my arrival, the driver had to call to make sure we were at the correct address. There is no sign or indication that this is lodging, as it is behind a very tall wall and gate. The room I got was decent, but the bed was not comfortable and there was NO HOT WATER. The gate in the wall opened right outside the bedroom window, so it was quite noisy until very late. There is no "front desk", only a phone number to call, if you have phone access. No English is spoken, not a problem for me, but possibly for you. The place has a common kitchen, but no coffee available unless you bring your own supplies to make some. I stayed only one night even though I had pre-paid for five nights. I've been trying to get a partial refund or credit from Expedia, but I'm not holding my breath. The last straw was taking a shower in the morning without hot water. Good luck if you choose this place!
Una experiencia agradable y cómoda, eramos los únicos en esa parte del hotel así que todo fue paz y tranquilidad, muy limpias las instalaciones aunque le falta rotulacion al lugar no es difícil llegar.
The hotel let me store my bags in the rom, which was helpful. Spectacular view of San Jose! Dormitory setting with shared bathroom, but no problem, as we had the place to ourselves!
Fue maravilloso el hotel superó mis expectativas la casa de lujo verdaderamente le da honor a su nombre todos mis familiares y amigos les fascinó. La vista al valle central bellisimo. No cabe duda que regresaremos una y otra vez si Dios así lo permite. Don Guillermo el encargado fue sin duda nuestra persona favorita estuvo pendiente en todo momento siempre listo para ayudar el trato fue excelente. Recomiendo el lugar un 100% no tengo nada malo que decir, mas que ya quiero regresar.

This is a bit of an odd place. Very empty l, with little staff to be seen. A nice view from the garden although it is not visible from all rooms (my room didn’t even have a window!). The shower wasn’t working properly in my room so I had to wash in the basin.

The view from the hotel is georgeous. The rooms don't really have a window to the outside, they open to the commune area. First night of stay was ok, but second night someone was watching TV very loud until late. : (

Comodidad y tranquilidad a buen precio. Pero debes considerar que no cuenta con desayuno, ni restaurante. Es mejor tener coche de alquiler para llegar y salir del hotel.
No es lo que representa monte campana, era solo algo como un motel
