Wonderful building and staff
Nothing
What a fabulous experience - not just a hotel - the staff were fantastic - thoughtful - and spoke to you like a human being - Really loved this quirky but perfect place Felt like I was in an agatha christie novel.
nothing except we couldn't stay longer
Location was great and a lovely hotel with old charm
No air con. Understandable in this old building but still uncomfortable without it
Breakfast was excellent and great choice. Very friendly staff and the family room was very clean and great value for money. Very happy with my stay at the Walpole Bay Hotel.
An Edwardian time capsule, the hotel is charming, comfortable and the room was spotlessly clean. Jane, the owner and her team demand high standards of themselves and their hospitality and attentiveness really made an impact. The added museum, ‘napery’ and original gated lift provide additional curiosity factor. Superb breakfast too.
Would have liked a bracket for the shower head for a stand up shower.
This hotel is quirky. As a guest you feel as if you are in a period drama on TV. The staff are friendly beyond compare. Like no other. Great location.
Staff, food, service, location, everything.
Friendly staff, comfortable bed, good breakfast, big room
Room was very warm but there were fans and the window could be opened fully
Characterful and comfortable old world charm. Fun place to stay evoking memories of a gentler time. Great room, good breakfast. We're returning customers and will be again.
If you want to stay somewhere that has character then this is it. We arrived to be told we had been upgraded - always a good start - and were given a room with balcony, a sea view facing west so we had a great view of the sunset and could appreciate that this is Turner country. This is not just a hotel, it is an art gallery and a museum. Every available wall space has a framed picture on table linen left by a guest. There's quite a few by Tracey Emin. This is not just a hotel - it's the pride of Cliftonville.
I should have booked for longer.
