Excellent stay in a quirky hotel
Pros:

Location was as expected. A 20 minute walk into Margate. Bang next to the sea with good views. Breakfast was great. Self service and everything you'd expect. Very attentive staff and looked after. Was told if you visit Margate it's worth a stay as hotel is combined with a museum and gallery. Different but great.

Interesting early 20 th century hotel.

Es war ein einzigartiges Eintauchen in eine andere, frühere Zeit.

überaus freundliches Personal, die Einrichtung der Zimmer und die Aussicht aufs Meer, die Ausstellungen auf den Stockwerken

Cons:

Wenn man kein Auto hat: der Weg zum Hotel ist zwar schön und am Meer entlang, kann sich aber hinziehen, wenn man müde ist. Schade, dass man nicht Abendessen kann, ein kleines Angebot würde genügen..

fabulous quirky hotel, on the edge of everything and close enough to everything
Pros:

A very quirky hotel, with old school charm. Staff were friendly and welcoming which added to the overall feel of the place. Great location, 30 or so minutes to Margate and loads to do on the doorstep.
The lift is a treat and I understand the afternoon teas are famous!

Cons:

The room was a little dated, but the beds were comfortable. the windows opened so we could have fresh air. This is an old hotel so the floorboards creak and the heavy doors slam shut - to be expected.

Despite some negative writeup, we would come back as the hotel is one of it's kind.
