Pros:

Easy check in. Close to train station.
Quiet room with comfortable beds. Breakfast really tasty with plenty of choice.

Cons:

My friend and I stayed during the hot weather in Stockport. As soon as we checked into the room we put on the air conditioning, we also double checked the settings and instructions as over time the room didn't get any cooler.
I went down to reception to raise this issue, after checking the receptionist told me the room was showing at 23 degrees, so he set the fan speed as high as possible for us and to the lowest temperature.

We went out for the evening at 5.30 and returned at around 1am. We had left the air con running at full fan speed on temp 19 degrees, but upon arriving back the room, it did not feel any cooler than when we left!

Once again, I had to go down to reception to complain. I was once again told the fan speed had been increased and set to the lowest temperature as the room was still showing as 23 degrees.

We left it an hour, no difference! So we requested a fan, which given that there is no windows, was just blowing hot air around the room. Very little sleep, very uncomfortable.

I will be raising a complaint as this was below our expectations and i didn't appreciate the fan speed for the air con was lowered by the hotel in a heatwave when people need the cool air in the rooms.
What is the point of having air con if guests can't use it to its full capacity?

The body wash was also completely empty. Luckily we had packed some.

Great hotel, friendly staff and fab location
Pros:

Great hotel and location. Very friendly staff especially Caroline at breakfast.

Cons:

Bit pricey when we stayed but that was because it was a weekend of gigs in Manchester but I understand supply and demand ! I'd stayed here a year before for my wedding night and it was half the price so I can't really fault it.

A good hotel ideally located for Stockport railway station with a disappointing standard breakfast.
Pros:

Good double glazing so no noise from the aeroplanes coming into to land or take off from the airport at Manchester airport.

Cons:

There was NO safe and NO fridge in my room! Next time I expect to find both of these important items!

Friendly staff, location by station ideal for my trip
Pros:

Convenient location right next to the railway station, and 5 mins walk from the venue of the event I was attending. Soundproofing good, so you barely hear the trains (or planes heading to Manchester). Air conditioning good, and the cleaner thoughtfully closed the curtains to keep out the sun. Staff friendly, and one lady helped me with a query about another booking I had with Holiday Inn Exp. Ate a nice chicken makhani in their restaturant one evening.
