Breakfast was gourmet, excellent and not too early.
The Owner was not present.
The Stewart Inn is absolutely gorgeous -- a truly stunning interior that will take your breath away. This home is extraordinary. Even better than the beauty of the home is the hospitality the owners provide. The rooms (furnishings, linens, pillows, etc.) and the en suite amenities offered are top-notch. We had to leave early the day of check-out and told Randy that we'd skip breakfast. He insisted on making us yogurt parfaits and delicious coffee, nonetheless. I truly cannot recommend the Stewart Inn any more highly...wish there was an option for 5+++ stars!
Our experience at the Stewart Inn was extraordinary experience. The inn is walking distance of shops and restaurants. The breakfasts were so delicious. The people of the inn were helpful with recommendations. If anyone has never taken a trip to Wausau Wisconsin, they need to book a getaway. Summer or winter, there are plenty of activities.
We had a fantastic stay at the Stewart Inn in Wasau, WI! The historic home is absolutely beautiful inside and the rooms were cute and nicely decorated each having their own little unique features. Breakfast in the a.m. was delicious with plenty of hot coffee on hand. We enjoyed chatting with the other guests and hosts during breakfast and also during wine hour in the evenings. Downtown is in walking distance were we spent a lot of time exploring the shops and dining. We also drove to and explored Rib Moutain Park one day and went to the Yawkey House Museum another day (in walking distance from the Inn). In our down time we enjoyed sitting out on the back porch of the Inn sipping wine and relaxing. House was quiet and quant and made for a perfect couples getaway with friends!
Great location
Great proprietor
Wonderful breakfast
Would stay again for sure
We were a tad warm but later in eve we opened windows and it was fine.
A gorgeous property and fantastic service. Wonderful and engaging host. A truly beautiful and architecturally fascinating house, with lovely, good-sized rooms. Delicious, hearty breakfast. Lovely neighborhood and within walking distance to downtown and three lovely museums. Would recommend it to anyone.
If I could give it more than five stars I would, The Stewart Inn is the place my husband and I always stay at when we come up to visit our daughter and her boyfriend. It's absolutely beautiful, super clean and the homemade breakfasts are so good. This is the place to stay if you are ever in the area. I promise you will not be disappointed. Oh and one of the best parts is Buster Brown 🤎
Great facility, very clean. Great hosts and outstanding breakfast. Highly recommend this beautiful home and outstanding furnishings.
Beautiful and comfortable home in a great location with lots of extras. Excellent breakfast-made with a lot of thought and care. Loved the steam shower! Walkable to many place. Wine hour was nice. I think I would have liked a small something to eat with it though. The host was extremely helpful and accurate in his recommendations.
The Stewart Inn is exactly as advertised! Randy is hospitable and eager to share the inn's history. The house is remarkable and so interesting. Oh, the breakfast? You won't find one like it anywhere else. Only fly in the ointment? We could only stay one night!
My husband and I really enjoy this location. The beds are comfortable and the room is clean. The breakfast is wonderful and we always leave for the day with a full belly. The place feels like coming home at the end of a busy day of exploring.
The Stewart Inn was absolutely perfect. It was uncharacteristically hot the night we stayed, but the hosts made every effort to ensure we were as comfortable as possible. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, and the evening wine service was delightful. We were very impressed with how much history was preserved throughout the home, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We will be back if we are in ever in the area again!
We loved our stay here. The rooms are very spacious and nicely furnished. The house is so beautiful and historic. I also enjoyed the outdoor deck to enjoy a coffee or tea in the morning or afternoon. The hosts are amazing, super nice with lot's to tell you and the breakfast is divine! Location is good, quiet and easy access to the restaurants and stores. Parking on site was a plus too.
The home is charming and well-maintainned. Our hosts, including those who filled in when Randy and Sara were not there, were all welcoming and attentive. The renowned architecture is breathtaking. The location is in walking distance to restaurnants and parks. We would highly recommend this lovely inn to anyone visitng Wausau, WI.
The owner is so kind to greet upon arrival and orient you to the space. The house is beautiful and calm. Located a quick walk to the downtown area, where he has some great recommendations. The room was comfortable and quiet. And the breakfast was delicious!
Beautiful and spacious room, breakfast is amazing, the hosts are very welcoming. Very nice outdoor patio in the shade, the historic home is extremely well kept!
Our stay was wonderful. Breakfast was amazing all three mornings!
The Inn is well kept and its hospitality is homespun. I was graciously greeted at the front door by the owner and made to feel at home from the start. My king room with fireplace was beautiful as pictured along with thoughtful details such as robes and nightlights. Down the hallway was a lovely beverage nook featuring complimentary water, teas, coffee and a refrigerator filled with sodas. Complimentary glass of wine was offered at 5pm in the great room, which I accepted, along with the wonderful visiting of the attending guests.
The 8:30a.m. breakfast is served at a communal dining table on elegant dishware, where each guest was individually hand served a 3 course homemade breakfast of greek yogurt and nuts or jam, fresh blueberries in cream, and either a loaded omelet, quiche or avocado toast. Choice of pressed juices and coffee were also served. It felt like a family gathering of like-minded travelers sharing their stories over a delicious leisurely breakfast together. As a solo traveler on this particular stay, I didn't have to eat alone or in silence. Instead I got to enjoy a family style breakfast conversing with interesting, friendly travelers. They also have some tables that only occomodate 2 for solos and couples who prefer noncommunal dining. But during my 2 night stay, all attending guests chose to dine together. How wonderful even for an introvert! And so different from my usual Hilton stays. If I were to return to Wausau, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Quite lovely.
No elevator, but the owner was accommodating to swiftly bring up my luggage when I arrived. But leaving, I did have to carry it down the grand staircase myself. A bit hard for a 60 year old! Some guests closed their doors a bit loudly which did interrupt my sleep on occasion. If you didn't arrive at 8:30am for breakfast, give or take 15 minutes, and stay at least 45 minutes, you'd miss out. But the camaraderie and homespun feel was worth it.
