Bed
Quaint and unusual property, you can tell it had been special in its heyday.
It’s not been maintained and has become tired and dated.
The room was clean, the bathroom was clean, in fact it smelt quite strongly of dettol. The linen was also clean.
It was extremely dated, as you pulled into the front of the hotel there was an old broken down Jaguar car with grass growing all around it which wasn’t a good look for what was to come, wallpaper peeling off walls, random old furniture plonked everywhere, the bar area was so uninviting, not sure wether it was an old classroom a canteen or someone’s sitting room. The Bathrooms could do with some TLC, Bedrooms again miss mash of random old furniture. It really needs an injection of money spending on it.
Not a great deal.
Decor was dated. We were told the bar would close at 10pm. We had been out during the day and came back before 10pm for a drink but the bar was already closed. Breakfast was included but only when we went for breakfast were we told it was continental only and did not include a cooked breakfast. That wasn’t made clear to us by booking.com
Gute Lage, gutes Frühstück, gemütlich.
Toilettenspülung schlecht. Leider keine Wasserflasche im Zimmer zur Verfügung gestellt.
Solo la colazione
Struttura assolutamente obsoleta
The staff were fantastic
Cleanliness was good
The price was ridiculous considering the hotel has not been updated since,id suspect, the 70s or 80s.
The rooms were very outdated and shabby with limited facilities.
The breakfast didnt start until 7.30am and there is no option for hot breakfast.
When you are paying the price this hotel charges they should at least supply a good breakfast.
I also ate at the restaurant one night.would not recommend.cheap ingredients yet extortionate prices.
We thought cooked breafast was included but was only continental.
Cooked breakfast available at sister hotel but extra cost.
Evening menu was same all week but did eat in twice.
If last in at breakfast some food not available.
Lage und das Gebäude an sich
Hätte sauberer sei können (speziell unter den Betten)
No breakfast, no refund due to us having to return home sooner than planned, menu the same both nights
It looks like a castle .. The whole place needs some love .. it’s all a bit dated and tied. The staff were friendly, the continental breakfast was plentiful.
As mentioned, tied and needing some work, also we were in an annex at the back of the building that was a real trot to get to. Grounds need some love too
The 3 legged cat lucky was a delight
The bed was like sleeping on a rock, very hard and uncomfotable. It was run down and overpriced. The food was mediocre for dinner. The breakfast was disappointing, it was cold sandwich meat, cold boiled eggs, cold cheese, stale bagels and croissants. The staff were unwelcoming. The shower had awful water pressure. Definitely not worth the price for an executive room.
Lovely castle to stay in
Very long walk with stairs to get to our room. Hard with luggage
Food was great!!
A Grand Old Lady. Wood panelling original fittings great location.
Unfortunately the kitchen was being updated so had evening meal at sister hotel.
