Not worth it.
Pros:

To book an executive room (3 in the castle) they charge you extra £40. As a main feature rooms come with the hot tub. When we got there for valentines- we were told that two rooms have the tub and one we will stay at does not! What we had was poorly cleaned room, quarter full bin and a used by previous guest tea cups. No apologies just the blame put on booking.com. Very poor. Rude receptionist too.

Die Lage, das Ambiente.

Cons:

Es war kühl im Zimmer; manchmal gans kein Warmwasser zum Duschen. Schade, dass das Personal bis zum letzten Tag nicht unsere Zimmernummer merken konnte. Auch, das die Speisekarte nie wechselte; es gab jeden Abend die selben Menüs. Auch bei der Sylvesterfeier hätten wir uns ein wenig mehr Tradition gewunschen.

A building of potential, needing severe investment and re- marketing to survive.
Pros:

The breakfast was appalling. The self service selection was visually and quality wise very disappointing. Likewise the cooked breakfast was over cooked and appeared to have been re- warmed, having been cooked previously.

Cons:

See above. We were supposed to stay at the Mansfield but actually stayed at the Morangie. We were "upgraded" to a superior room, I dread to have stayed in a standard room. The bathroom was a disgrace.

Good location & good food but hotel decoration, amenities & bedroom facilities are all stuck in a time warp.
Pros:

Great location as only a short drive from the A9 & a short walk to the town centre. Cooked breakfast was a welcome surprise (thought it was just a continental breakfast). Evening meal - good menu choice & tasty. Nice bar area. Good car parking.

Cons:

Although bar area was nice it was very chilly. Bedrooms, corridors etc are all very dated, hotel is stuck in a time warp. The route to the bedroom was very convoluted, upstairs, down a corridor, down some stairs then along a corridor.
