Important information:

Please note the hotel does not offer on-site parking. There is street parking, which is free between the hours of 17:00 and 09:00. Alternatively there are pay-and-display car parks around nearby.

Due to current restrictions Breakfast options will be available from the 27th April

During the busy summer there will be live music in our main Bar (Fri/Sat) to entertain the guest and regular pub visitors. The music will be played until 11:30pm. Some of the rooms can hear the sound and if you like really quiet room we suggest to book somewhere far from the central town.
A deposit may be required at the property.

Very happy
Pros:

We needed a room to sleep 3 in the area so this is why we chose it as many hotels don’t have rooms for 3. The breakfast was excellent. I asked if they had any yoghurt and the lady came out with a lovely bowl of Greek yogurt for me. We also left a bag in our room and the staff found it and kept it safe until we could return a few days later, very grateful thank you.

Excellent location
Pros:

The location was excellent. Central Abergavenny next to Central Market, Borough Theatre, all shops, cafes, restaurants and short walk to castle and meadows. About 20 minute walk to railway station.
Breakfast was very good. Staff friendly.

Cons:

The shower room in our double bedroom was extremely cramped. No hooks or rails to hang wet towels. Door to room was very difficult to open once unlocked - needed some brute force!

Comfy stay in well located hotel.
Pros:

I booked three rooms for a family occasion. All three were clean and very comfy. The pub/hotel is a nice place and superbly situated. The owners and staff are excellent and the live music on Saturday is always good fun. Breakfast is lovely. Have stayed here several times and would happily return.

We enjoyed our stay!
Pros:

From the moment we checked in Raj was awesome, so friendly. He helped us get a ride to the train station the next day. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was small but comfortable, included coffee. The dinner we had in the restaurant was wonderful. The breakfast that was included was beyond expectations. Very nice!

Cons:

My only concern is that there was no hot water.

Pros:

Breakfast was nice and the staff were lovely, if seemingly a bit under staffed and having to work the restaurant and the bar and check in all at once.

Cons:

However the room was disappointing. It was not cleaned well, we found a previous guests underwear in the desk drawer (not reported to staff). Some parts (like above the sliding bathroom door) were thickly coated in dust showing rarely deeply cleaned. The door didn't shut on its own which may be a fire hazard too.

Centrally located in a beautiful town.
Pros:

The location is in the centre of town, very convenient. The rooms were very clean and comfortable.

Cons:

More information about parking (none available but local parking close-by). The bar was not particularly inviting. During a 3.30 am fire alarm there was no fire warden or staff onsite for over 20 minutes.
