Beautiful location with sea views and huge rooms.
Pros:

We returned to this hotel after 2 years because we enjoyed it so much the first time. It has a wonderful setting in gardens overlooking the sea and is very peaceful and relaxing. Sunbeds are arranged on the lawn where there is direct access to a beautiful beach.

Cons:

I would say the hotel is soon to need some upgrading as some areas are looking tired. Considering the hotel’s rating I would have expected dressing gowns to be provided which are not. As we suggested on our last visit it would be an improvement if staff provided a drink service around the pool and beach front area. As it is, if you want a drink you have to walk right up to the bar in the reception area.

Das R Degrees liegt an einem wunderschönen Strandabschnitt, die Zimmer sind sehr groß, der Pool Bereich ist perfekt. Man ist beinahe alleine und kann wunderbar entspannen.

Cons:

Ab der 2. Nacht hatten wir Kakerlaken im Zimmer. Das Personal hat sie dankenswerterweise immer sofort entfernt, jedoch ist es nichts, was man immer wieder, auch am Bett, im Zimmer finden möchte bei einem 4 Sterne Hotel. Wir hatten das Erdgeschoss Zimmer neben der Küche. Wir wissen nicht, ob das Problem auch in anderen Zimmern herrscht.

Die Lüftung im Bad hat sehr gestunken, auch wenn sie nicht an war, so dass man Nachts davon im Zimmer wachgeworden ist.

Gutes Hotel mit großzügigen Zimmern. Der Pool ist schön und groß. Es gibt genügend Liegen mit Auflagen und auch Sonnenschirme.

Leider hat die Klimaanlage nur leidlich funktioniert. Der Essensbereich ist leider nicht sehr ansprechend , aber ok

We had a wonderful stay at this property and would happily return.

The location is excellent – peaceful and surrounded by nature, yet still close enough to the main attractions. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing, which made it a perfect place to unwind after full days of exploring.

Pros:

Unglaublich schöne Anlage und perfekt zum relaxen. Da es nur 10 Zimmer gibt, ist die Ruhe sehr angenehm. Das Zimmer war sehr groß und die Betten waren sehr bequem. Der Pool mit Blick auf den Garten und den unmittelbaren strandzugang ist wie im Bilderbuch. Der sandstrand ist umwerfend und man glaubt, dass man im Paradies ist. Keine Menschen und einfach nur schön. Wir waren t Nächte und haben uns richtig gut erholt.

Pros:

Die Lage direkt am Meer, wunderschöner, ganz leerer Strand. Sehr kinderfreundlich und aufmerksam Familien gegenüber. Wünsche wurden schnell erfüllt, überhaupt sehr guter Service, und die Zimmer sind sehr schön und sauber. Das Essen im Restaurant ist sehr gut (aber hat einen stolzen Preis), das Sri Lankischen Frühstück eines der besten unserer gesamten Reise - unbedingt vorbestellen.

R Degrees was the perfect final stop for our honeymoon. After spending the first three quarters of our trip exploring the south and south-east of Sri Lanka, we wanted to stay in Ambalangoda , closer to Colombo Airport, to slow down, relax, and simply enjoy the sun, sea, and beautiful coastal scenery — and R Degrees delivered exactly that.

The accommodation and facilities were immaculate, spacious, and spotlessly clean. Our suite was incredible, with a beautiful balcony overlooking the pool, a lawn lined with palm trees, and the Indian Ocean beyond — the view was truly stunning and something we’ll never forget.

The staff were exceptionally attentive, and nothing was ever too much trouble. They would often walk down onto the lawn to take drink orders, or if you headed toward the main hotel, you were more often than not greeted before even reaching the bar. The service felt effortless and genuinely warm.

The beach itself was gorgeous, and there were one or two small beach bars nearby if you fancied a change of scenery for sunset drinks.

Overall, R Degrees was a wonderful place to unwind and end our Sri Lanka adventure on the perfect note.

Расположение хорошие на пляже.Живописный пляж.В целом хороший отель со сврей небольшой территорией,где можно поплавать в бассейне и позагорать.Океан времега купабелен,если пройти правее или левее от пляжа.Завтраки обычные.Питались в основном в кафе ,если пройти от отеля правее метров 500 на север,очень вкусная еда,в отеле не ужинали.В номерах есть вме необходимое,тапочки имеютчя тоже.Персонал очень хороший,поздравил с Рождеством,подарил пирог.

Cons:

Снимаю балл за то,что есть те,кто проживает в отеле и купаются в бассейне в одежде и причем в грязной одежде,после чего в бассейне не поплавать уже.Также ,если ты лежишь на территории отеля ближе к пляжу,то туда подходят местные бич бои и нарушают твое личное пространство,хотелось бы,чтоб у теля была охрана,котопая не допускала этого на территории отеля.
