Lovely gem
Pros:

The location was perfect to explore the area. You would need to stay a couple nights to make sure you can discover the beauties of Donegal. There was a restaurant attached to the hotel, and the food was spectacular. Enjoyed a very delicious dinner and couple drinks after a full day of activities. Mary, the hotel owner, was very attentive and made sure we had a great stay. My boyfriend I loved the details of this place and made it seem like a second home during our holidays. Thank you Mary!

Pros:

Our stay was delightful! There was a beautiful beach just a little walk down the hill, and a fun pub. Our accommodations were clean and roomy. We especially loved the reading room! This is going on the list of places to visit again!

Pros:

When I made the reservation I requested a single room - and stated that I would be accompanied by a dog. When I arrived after a particularly arduous journey I was told by a rather frosty receptionist that the room I had booked was not dog friendly. But sure I hadn’t “ booked “ a room it surely is the Hotels responsibility to allocate a room suitable to the guests request. I had received an email to state this at 19.07 on check in day ! Less than 1 hour before I arrived ! Anyway I was offloaded into what was described as a cottage - really like a hostel room and frosty like Mary herself. Breakfast was distinctly average with staff mire interested in chatting about that’s days upcoming Wedding. It’s a nice location but clearly suffers from a lack of hands on Management.

Love the Lake House.
Pros:

I love the Lake House. Mary and Geraldine and staff are so hospitable. The rooms are very tastefully decorated, beds really comfy. We have been travelling Ireland now for 13 days, and Lake House is easily our favourite so far. I would stay here again, if I'm in the area.

The staff are so friendly & breakfast, dinner & snacks were very good. Well presented & very good standard, served on warm plates, one of my pet gates is hot food on cold plates.

The bedroom was a small but functional & the bathroom was very good.

Nice hotel, gorgeous location
Pros:

Beautiful location close to an amazing beach. Staff were so pleasant and helpful. Delicious home cooked food, particularly the sea food. Rooms could do with a bit of updating but were spotlessly clean and comfortable. Broadband was fine downstairs but a bit hit and miss in the room. Overall we had a brilliant couple of days and will definitely go back.

Lovely break at Lake House Hotel
Pros:

We had a great time. The staff were fantastic and our children had a wonderful time. We ate in the restaurant in the evening which was lovely and a great hot breakfast was everything we needed to set us up for our day on the beach.
Its a lovely little hotel in a great spot. Very nice for families exploring the surrounding areas.
Our bedroom was big and so there was more than enough room for the 4 of us.
We have said we would be going back to visit again.

Will definitely return
Pros:

Great hotel with extremely welcoming staff, lovely food and the best pints of Smithwicks I've had in a long while! We visited because it was pet friendly and got a great room, separate from the main building so weren't worried about any stray barks disturbing other clientele
