The Umbrella House

Virkelig en lille perle i Kamala - meget mere hyggeligt end de kæmpe resorts. Du har poolen for dig selv næsten, og Bon (værten) er så flink til at hjælpe ved selv det mindste. Han gav os også nogle gode anbefalinger til steder at spise, transport mv. Værelset var fint, ikke noget særligt, og med en fin lille altan. Forvent en del trafikstøj.

My boyfriend and I came to Phuket over New Year's and absolutely loved our stay at Umbrella House. We were especially impressed by the hospitality of our host Bon. Bon was so helpful - on our first day, we took a Grab car from the airport to Umbrella House and I accidentally chose the option to pay with cash instead of credit card - we hadn't exchanged any cash for Thai Baht yet, and our driver didn't speak any English - thankfully Bon stepped in, was able to translate for us, and lent us about 1,000 baht to cover our bill on the spot. Bon was also able to recommend great local restaurants and food, and also gave us a recommendation for a motorbike rental store we really liked. The property is also really beautiful - the pool is gorgeous and the rooms are spacious and very clean and modern. The bed was plush and we enjoyed our little balcony too. Would strongly recommend!

Close to the hubbub of kamala beach, but tucked away on a quiet street. It was safe and clean. The host was very helpful, polite and genuinely sincere. Would recommend.
If I were to return to Kamala Beach I would stay at the Umbrella House again.

I stayed here for five lovely nights. The room was really spacious with a full size fridge and a proper kitchen sink, under a window, even some dishes provided; it had a little balcony from which I could watch the sunrise, and the hummingbirds visiting the bougainvillea hanging over the pool. The lobby is so warm and welcoming, as is Mr Bo. He was waiting for me when I arrived, having set up a car and driver to meet me at the airport, showed me the room, made sure everything was fine. He helped me so much, making calls when I was waiting for a ride and they had not come, recommending the Green Elephant Sanctuary which was wonderful, and just being so kind. The bathroom has great modern fixtures and nice amenities, and the entire room was immaculately cleaned daily, even to fresh pillow cases and always fresh towels. I found the hotel peaceful, the air conditioning worked well and it was only a short walk to the beach path where there are a whole lot of restaurants, bars and coffee places. It was the perfect place and really good value for money.

We would like to thank Bon and his family for their hospitality and assistance during our stay would recommend.

I stayed here only for two nights but never the less I wanted to leave a great review because they just deserve it. When you travel in Thailand you get used to very clean hotels but the Umbrella House is exceptionally clean and very well managed. Everything was just in perfect order and on a high standard, be it the shower, aircon, fridge etc.
The guesthouse is situated very close to several supermarkets and conveniently close to the seafront. Restaurants etc. are all within walking distance.
Mr. Bom really does an awesome job, and I can highly recommend staying at the Umbrella House.

Really enjoyed my stay at the Umbrella House only small 7 room's with a small pool close to town quiet and walking distance to bars and restaurants .
Manager Bon and staff were great and always happy to help with any inquiries .
Room's were cleaned daily and bottled water also daily so if you want a nice quiet no fuss stay I would recommend Umbrella House .

Really enjoyed my stay at the Umbrella House only small 7 rooms but it was close to town with small pool , very quiet and the staff were great and always happy to help with any inquiries. No breakfast but a number of restaurants within walking distance .

Rented Moto from Kamala car rental across the street, great family run business with good quality cars and moto. Explored beaches all around. Perfect three day visit!

We had a terrific stay at the Umbrella House in Kamala Beach. We especially loved the staff. Mr. Bom was very gracious and took time to explain the town, the beach, and the details of the room. Mr. Bom lives upstairs, so someone is always available if you have a question or need.

The staff were very accommodating and thoughtful. They noticed that we were eating dinner in our room (after the baby went to sleep), so they brought us plates and silverware for the next day, without us even asking. We couldn't do a late checkout, but we were able to use the pool and shower in the lobby in order to stay at the Umbrella House until we had to leave for our flight back to Bangkok.

The location is great for the town. There are two terrific local Thai eateries just about 1 block to the south. In addition, an amazing market (open Tuesday/Thursday/Sunday 3pm-8pm) is also only 1 block down the road to the south. We picked up all sorts of delicious food at the market for dinner. The beach is only about 7-8 minutes walk from Umbrella House, down a couple side streets. You have to cross the main road first. You walk past many little eateries, massage places, bars, salons, and shops on the way.

The pool was very refreshing, and there was a pretty yellow-bloomed plant growing up the wall overlooking the pool, with cute little birds flitting around it.

The room was extremely clean and spacious. We had a king-sized bed. The bathroom and shower were especially nice, with both a hand-held shower and a big overhead shower.

We highly recommend Umbrella House!

We stayed in umbrella house for two nights (my spouse, our baby daughter and me) and my gratitude to Mr Bon for his warmth, concern and care during our stay. In terms of the hotel itself, it is v conveniently located just off the main road in a quiet cul de sac. It's quiet, quite clean and well maintained, and the toiletries and overall decor is really tastefully done. There's a 11/7 a minutes walk from the place, and there's a really nice restaurant named Chicarico nearby
Room tip: If one wants to avoid taking the stairs (there is no elevator to my understanding) then perhaps choose the pool access room which is where we stayed in and it was more than sufficient.

Fantastisk service, otroligt vänligt och kärleksfullt bemötande. Vi anlände tidigt på förmiddagen och fick våra rum direkt. När vi reste hem fick vi checka ut sent utan att betala extra. Hotellet ligger på en bakgata vilket är skönt men bara några steg bort ligger huvudgatan. Till stranden tar det ca 7 min att promenera. Vi är så nöjda!

Nettes kleines Hotel in super Zustand. Schöne grosse Zimmer und kleiner sauberer Pool.
Zum Strand ist es ein bisschen weit (10-15 Min. zu Fuss), sonst kann man in 5 Min. zum Einkaufen, Essen und Trinken.
Die laute Strasse hat mich ein wenig gestört, aber sonst empfehlenswert.

Situated at the back of the main road. This location is quiet and secluded. The rooms are absolutely spotless and so clean that I nearly walked into the glass going out to the balcony as I thought it was open! .. It’s perfect if your stopping by and require a peaceful place to rest with an amazingly kind host!

Stayed late february at this hotel for two nights. Rooms very clean. The best asset for this hotel is the Manager Mr. Bon. He always went above and beyond for us, I had him organise a very very early taxi and when i went downstairs he was waiting there making sure it had arrived. Thank you Mr.Bon

Absolutely amazing place to stay in Kamala. About a 5 minute walk to the beach through cute streets lined with spas, street food, restaurants and little shops. Bon is such a lovely host and makes you feel right at home. Toast and coffee of your choice is provided at no extra cost and it’s so nice to enjoy your breakfast in the sunshine next to the pool. Each room has a balcony where you can watch amazing sunsets and sunrises. The rooms are very clean and well kept. Free bottled water is provided daily along with a safe, blow dryer and some toiletries. The rooms have air conditioning so you can escape the heat. Bon is always there to recommend daytime activities in the area. He can also arrange airport transportation if needed. Beach towels and mats are provided at no cost. You really have everything you need to enjoy your stay.

Umbrella House is a gem of a small hotel. Tucked away on a quiet alley off the busy main road that separates it from the lively restaurants, bars and hotels of Kamala Beach, it’s a quiet, comfortable retreat ... yet an easy walk to everything via a lighted intersection, where the traffic actually stops long enough to allow you to cross the main road with time to spare. There’s a Tesco Express and a nice pharmacy right behind the hotel for any supplies you may need. The young man who runs the front desk is friendly, very helpful and makes the complementary breakfast of coffee and toast you can eat by the small pool next to the lobby.

A wonderful place to stay in Kamala Beach! The rooms were spotless and the location couldn’t be better. The property is tucked away off the main road, but is still close to convenient stores, bars/restaurant, and of course, the beach. The place is definitely a low-key spot for those looking for a relaxing place to stay while on vacation, which was perfect for us.The owner was unbelievably helpful and made sure that any request or question was answered - we stayed over New Years Eve and he hand delivered a traditional lantern to everyone’s room for them to light that evening.

I would highly recommend this spot for anyone traveling through!
