Kai Cheng Hotel Apartment

The problem with this property is that it is impossible to find. It took the help of 3 Chinese / English speaking friends to find the unmarked door, with a coded entry (for which I was not given the code). Then there is no indication that one is in the right location until taking the elevator to the 22nd floor, where there is a makeshift front office in the form of a converted hotel room. Clearly, they do not want foreigners staying here, so it should not be available on the Expedia website. Also, the phone number listed on Expedia is incorrect, and another phone number listed is constantly busy. Once inside, the apartment is actually nice--clean and comfortable.

Locating the Property is the most challenging of all as the details are spelled out in details and had to rely on previous comments stating that the registration is at Room 2207. The apartment itself is at Building 2 Block 1D which is a stand alone unlike from Building 2, 1A/1B/1C/1E which are clustered together in the same building across a small road from 1D. if you are using any map apps, safer bet to search for "Shenzhen Nanshan Foreign Languages School" to find your way to that area, which is at the opposite road of the Main door of 1D.

Other than that, the amenities around the apartment is great. A nearby shopping mall on one side, a neighbourhood community with local super market and eateries on the other side. All within 200m away. The train station about 500m away to take you to rest of Shen Zhen.

The apartment is well located in Hitgh tech park of Shenzhen very near to a giant mall (MixC). However, it is difficult to find because the address is not complete. It only précises Building 2 but there are several buildings in "residence" 2 (1A, 1B...1E). The reception was in residence 2 building 1D. I got the information after I called the reception who can only speak Chinese.
Once arrived at the reception, the receptionist could not find my booking ant tried to call many people before giving me the room (he has to take a picture of my phone reservation).
The room was not in residence 2 but in residence 1. The good thing is that the receptionist brought me there (leaving the reception empty...). If you have a lot of luggage, be prepared to walk around.
Even though the building is new (less than 5 years), the apartment is not mint. the ceiling for example has clearly some humidity issue.
The bed sheets were good and the bed was big.
The bathroom is small. Be prepared to wash over the toilet (it is common in SE Asia).
As the door is keyless (with a password), the checkout is easy. You can leave whenever you want.

It is nice and will stay next time
