Pros:

This should be a 4star very friendly great breakfast good rate we paid for a cosy room and yes it was small but fine for a couple of nights at a good price we expected small as described cosy we would definitely return and recommend

Because the weather was extremely hot the room was uncomfortably hot but that’s not their fault

Beautiful Hotel in Torquay
Pros:

We loved all that this fabulous hotel offered. Our room was comfortable, and had tea-making facilities. The breakfast was fantastic, the hot food was delicious, and was cooked as ordered. There was a great selection of pastries, cereals, fruit and yogurts. The staff at breakfast time could not have been more helpful.
The setting of the Balmoral is beautiful. Only 5 mins from the beach, and about a 15 to 20 min walk from the lovely harbour of Torquay.
There's a bus that passes near to the hotel, also.
A special mention for the decor of the hotel's interior, it is remarkable. The lounge and dining room and bar area are so relaxing.
The garden is a real plus, with ample seating. I did not want to leave this hotel! I can whole-heartedly recommend it and would love to return. It was great value for B & B, considering its quality of food, service, comfort and lovely surroundings.

Pros:

Great location and friendly staff.

Cons:

Room was very small and exceedingly hot due to the high temperatures for which the small fan provided was inadequate. The furniture and carpets need to be replaced.

Exceptional hotel
Pros:

A lovely place, in a beautiful setting. The room was really nice with a very comfortable bed. Food was excellent, they more than accommodated our dietary requirements (gluten, dairy free) with exceptional meals. The staff were friendly and helpful making everyone's stay a delight. All round, it's a top place to enjoy a relaxing holiday.

Short break while the weather was good. Would use this hotel again.

Lovely public areas and gardens. Pleasant staff. Great breakfast. Parking off road.

No blind on bathroom widow so it got extremely hot.

The Balmoral was welcoming and comfortable and a good base for what we wanted to do.
Pros:

Breakfast very good. Waiter accommodating, service quick, food hot, fresh, plentiful.

Room small with very little room around bed but spotlessly clean and comfortable.

Cons:

Supper menu very limited. Service good (same waiter) but food not as hot as we would have liked. We did tell him and he offered to reheat but we didn’t bother.

Could hear guests in neighbouring bedrooms as walls seemed quite thin.

Fabulous hotel in a wonderful location
Pros:

What a fantastic hotel in a wonderful, quiet location of Torquay.
The food, at breakfast and in the evening was absolutely first class (we actually ate out on the first night, of our five night stay...big mistake!).
The hotel is really tastefully decorated in an old style, but not at all shabby and was very clean.
The staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
We will definitely be re-visting.
Highly recommended.

Elegant hotel & tasty varied cooked breakfasts
Pros:

Elegant hotel building, nice lounge & bar area. Comfortable room, great selection at cooked breakfast & cereal bar. Very friendly staff.

Cons:

A reasonable 15 minutes walk into Torquay Harbour but it suited my needs.

Pros:

Great location just a few minutes away from a quiet beach and away from the noise in town. Bed was comfy and the breakfast was appreciated. The stay was very affordable and was great value for money for us.

Cons:

There were some issues with noise (doors slamming) by other guests being inconsiderate early in the morning which impacted our rest. The bathroom could use an upgrade but was perfectly usable and very clean.
