Lovely old hotel with a fascinating WW2 History. On the edge of Woodhall Spa in beautiful gardens. Excellent staff
Since the last time we stayed there seemed to be a lot of dogs especially in the bar. Mostly well behaved but there was some yapping.
Big car patk. Impressive building with interesting history set in pleasant location.
Plenty of public rooms to relax in after hearty breakfast or evening meal.
Most staff very polite and smartly dressed.
Very poignant bar dedicated to 617 squadron.
Comfortable room with good view of the gardens.
Ideally situated to explore 'Bomber county'.
Visited the very interesting museum and Kinema during our stay.
Most of the other guests appeared to be RAF history enthusiasts.
Some areas are starting to look a bit worn,.mainlly exterior woodwork and around our windows in room 217..
All restaurant staff with shoulder length hair should tie it back when serving or delivering plated food to guests.
Otherwise, all good.
Dinner very good, cooked breakfast average (scrambled eggs looked poor, no poached egg option). Service for both meals was good. My Garden Room (208) was very good.
Cleanliness of my bathroom, showed Reception Team.
Beautifully located with much history going back to the days of 617 Squadron and the Dambusters.
Nothing
A lovely building packed with RAF history. Comfy rooms, good food and drinks.
Nothing.
Beautiful property steeped in history.
Nothing
Good food and choice of beers. Comfortable dining area. Great breakfast. Friendly staff.
Room was over kitchen so had the noise of the extractors for hours. There was a bad smell of full drains.
The hotel is fab and the staff are very attentive
Beds to soft
Very nice and clean. Food excellent.
Hotel WiFi was weak and intermittent. Local cell phone service also weak and intermittent. (Not fault of hotel)
Breakfast was very nice, black pudding overcooked and hard, sausages very tasty, nice selection would liked to have been told could have different cooked eggs eg poached was not told this, a nice touch that they gave my wife a birthday card at breakfast
As this was a special gift to my wife as it was her birthday, staff going to the bins making noise at 22.00, and no form of sound proofing between rooms so my wife was awake on and off from 1am due to person in next room continuously snoring which could be heard in our room, this the main reason for the low scores, the whole point is to feel relaxed and refreshed and this wasn't the case
Staff were friendly. Venue clean and well maintained. The grounds were beautiful.
Dinner was good but veggie choice limited and ended up eating a tiny asparagus tart and a veggie burger - not exactly what I expected for £40. That being said well cooked and presented.
Nice room but as always the single rooms always seem to have a scenic view and sound track of bins and bottles!
Breakfast was poor eggs over done but slimey on top. Black pudding too thin hence why it was hard struggled to cut it. Mushrooms swimming in grease. The rest was good.
The pillows were very poor didn't sleep very well. One pillow wasn't high enough two pillows you might as well sit up. One pillow and the cushion didn't work either. Mattress too soft personal choice.
Very nice location. The room was spacious with an excellent bathroom. Meals were very good and the buffet breakfast was very good
The rooms do not have air conditioning and therefore on warm nights could be challenging
