Pros:

Beautiful hotel, grounds and the staff are always amazing and helpful. Sue, the waitress is worth her weight in gold.

Cons:

Woken by the cleaners around 6:30am , one hasn't a volume control. The WiFi in 226 is a minus although I have stayed in rooms the other end of the same floor and I couldn't complain about that. It's a big building and I understand the complexity of steady WiFi. Maybe some WiFi boosters ? Anyway. Love Petwood ❤️

I'd stay again
Pros:

An impressive looking building, with nice grounds and lots of interesting information relating to the hotel's previous life during world war 2. Truly dog friendly and the staff were as lovely and helpful to us as they were to the dogs. Breakfast was good, the hot food was constantly being replenished and more toast and hot drinks, which were brought by the staff were offered to us several times. The hotel and breakfast were good value for what we paid

Cons:

The bar food was okay but I felt some things were a bit pricey for what you got. There were also a couple of little hitches like them forgetting to bring butter with bread and a noticeable delay between our 2 meals arriving. It was very busy when we were there, as there was a wedding party staying so this might not be normal and the staff were apologetic.

Pros:

Lovely stay, again. Clean room, comfortable bed and a decent breakfast!

Cons:

We had a "Garden" view room. We have stayed many times but this time, although a garden view room, it was rather small. There was a super king sized bed, but I think a king sized bed would fit the room better.

Petwood Hotel: where you feel the history.
Pros:

Room was small but comfortable and adequate for our short stay. Staff generally were very friendly. Breakfast was good.
The grounds were large and well kept. Excellent parking available on site.
The WW11 617 Dambusters Sqn memorabilia was wonderful to look at especially in the old Sqn bar. Although modern, you could still feel the history of the old Officer's Mess.

Cons:

Wasn't informed where our room was when booking in at reception or that there was a lift.
The bar kitchen messed up my food order but did apologise and quickly rectified the issue.

Beautiful setting for a comfortable stay
Pros:

A beautiful setting with terrace and gardens to sit outside in the evening. Plenty of walks within the grounds of the hotel. Our room was very spacious and clean with a large bathroom with walk in shower as requested. Breakfast is very good and served in the traditional dining room. The whole place oozes atmosphere and takes you back to a time gone by. We did not east in the restaurant so cant comment on the food in the evening.

Dissapounting stay
Pros:

The exterior, parking and friendliness of the staff and distance from our event.

Cons:

The room looked like an old fashioned room in an old people's home. There were stains on the furniture and carpet. It was so hot and uncomfortable all night. The whole place needs a massive upgrade. The breakfast wasn't nice at all. We had the cooked buffet. Bacon was undercooked. Sausages were dissapointing, which was the theme of our stay unfortunately.
