Asteria Cave Hotel

The suite had potential, but unfortunately, the level of cleanliness didn’t meet our expectations. There was noticeable humidity in the room, and we found used water bottles, durty dust under the rug, and some insects. Linens and towels had some visible holes and spots.

We’ve stayed in similar cave-style places that were much cleaner, so we believe the experience here could really improve with better maintenance and attention to detail.
Also broken forniture with holes.

BED BUG INFESTATION AND POOR MANAGEMENT - DO NOT STAY HERE!!
The owner refuses to accept that his hotel, the first place we have stayed, caused bed bug bites. Since the first night of our stay, we have experienced issues with horribly itchy bug bites occurring at night time.
We originally thought these could be mosquito bites, until we finally saw the bed bugs in the mattress. There are cracks and holes in the door to our room, which would have let mosquitoes in. It is also very humid and wet in the room- perfect conditions for mosquitoes. However, we now know better after seeing the bugs on the bed.
The bed bug bites caused such a severe reaction that it ruined our entire trip. I had to seek medical care from a pharmacy due to the severity of the allergy.
We have 2 more weeks of our vacation left. Now all of our clothes and all of our luggage needs to be washed since they are likely infested. The owner refuses to pay for this service or take any action.
The night manager at check-in has been great, but that is the only good thing I can say about this place.
Save your money and stay somewhere where the people would care about you and take proper measures against pests.

A wonderful experience to stay in a ‘cave’ hotel. We understand the carved out rooms are part of the natural and cultural history of Goreme. The hotel does not change the physical aspects of the original walls but lights and furnishings are added to make it feel very welcoming. Once the door to the room is closed the sights and sounds from outside disappear. It snowed while we were here and the towel warmer in our bathroom, not only dried our wet clothes but kept the temperature in the room at a perfect level.
Ahmet, the first person we met when we checked in was the absolute best at not only accommodating us but also sharing experiences and suggestions. A delight to be around.
The women in the kitchen made to-die-for bread and cheese biscuits served warm for breakfast along with meats, cheeses, olives, tomatoes, cucumbers, jellies and other pastries and omelettes.
The location was perfect, within walking distance and with a view of the enchanting town of Goreme.
We feel fortunate to have chosen this place to spend 4 wonderful days and 3 cozy and restful nights.

We had a wonderful stay here for 4 nights. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the breakfast was excellent, the location perfect and our cave room was super special. Highly recommend!

The cave rooms on the cliff is the one that I like most

The bathroom jad a sewage smell. I suspect it’s because we were in the ground floor. Other than that the accomodations were ok for a 1 to 2 day stay.

Staff was amazing all around and the cave hotel experience was wonderful. The inclusive turkish breakfast was amazing and the packages they offered to explore the city were very helpful. I would come back and stay again!

This place is super cute and the service is great! from the terrace you get a great view over the whole city and can watch the balloons rise in the morning
