We had a great experience at this hotel.
Pros:

My family and I had an amazing and very satisfying experience with the customer service provided by the receptionist Lena Yang. Her passion, friendliness, and level of customer service exceeded our expectations. Although there were some minor issues with our booking made through the app, she went out of her way to resolve them for us. She also arranged our rooms as close together as possible and thoughtfully considered details that we might have missed. We will definitely come back again on our next visit to Chengdu.

Cons:

Due to the age of the building, as it is the first Marriott hotel in Chengdu, the interiors may not be the most up to date. However everything you need is functional and well maintained.

Crowed, messy, low quality lounge. Unprofessional, rude and arrogant.

The gym and swimming is outsourced!

So many strange people is around, like a market! So many people and so noisy! The water has many floating items on top. Insane!

The hotel is not near to shopping center or metro station. You have to call taxi every time!

The fruits provided in the lounge is not fresh! Low quality!

Next also a happening started with the check in misdoings and ended with the manager Sara arrogant response.

The nights were booked under the elite account for two rooms which provides executive benefits. However, as their misdoings, they combined bills together and acculamted to a normal account. This could make a big problem for me, Marriott could determine me as selling benefits and remove my elite status. The hotel suggest to reset to my account to avoid trouble, I said to leave to their handle. I told them they should have break into two will be simple. Now another problem as the normal account under my friend got no accumulation at all!

We found the hotel manager for this but she was not friendly and felt not guilty in making all these troubles. She is so unprofessional and irresponsible. I will make a further complaint if higher management is not involved.

Be careful if you stay here, you have know Marriott rules and regulations well if not, based on this hotel unprofessional doings, you will lose your status or account.

I suggest to stay fairmont or Hilton in Chengdu. This Marriott financial center is horrible. May be JW Marriott is better.

Great hotel and staff
Pros:

Very comfortable room and bed, staff always trying to help. If I had to find something to be improved, it would be the room service food : the burger was not very tasty.
