Sandingan Island Resort

Was a great resort. Beautiful view, nice rooms and clean, owner and staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was wonderful. Pool was nice had very deep end which is hard to find in Philippines, also shallow end for kids. Very relaxing and enjoyable. Highly recommended

We had the best possible time. Excellent service, staff and owners were really friendly and helpful. The resort is a beautiful place to relax, snorkel and dive.
Some general infos we found helpful: The resort is off the tourist track, that means not many food options around. Resort-own restaurant has a nice choice from filipino to western food. We liked it a lot. If you are looking for more options or wanting to go around Bohol, you'd better rent a scooter (resort can help with that).
If you are looking for a beach, there is no beach at the resort, but one small beach about 2 km away - frequented by locals.
For those looking to work remotely, the Philippines in general is problematic we realized with unstable internet especially in rural areas. So, expect the wifi to be unstable, that is due to the telecom operators and infrastructure in the Philippines.

Virkelig skuffende! Vi endte med at tjekke ud to dage før tid, da det slet ikke var som lovet og blev tvunget til at betale fuld pris alligevel.
Der er absolut ingen ting i nærheden, så alt fra strand, indkøb ect foregår med taxa. Receptionen ringer gerne efter “taxa”, men de tager mega overpris og man betaler til dem og så betaler de en del af det til chaufføren.
Alt ialt en rigtig dårlig oplevelse.

We had the best time there. Very friendly staff and owners. Went out to snorkel for a fay and boat crew were very helpfull. The food was amazing and the rooms were big and very clean. The pool also was spotless.

We had a great stay and will be back. The property is in a good location and the food is awesome.

다이브를 위해서는 최적의 장소입니다.
청결하고, 친절한 Owner와 직원들의 서비스가 정말 좋습니다. 보홀이라는 특성상 음식값이 약간 비싼듯 하지만 나름대로 괜찮았습니다.

하지만 비치가 없고, 도심과 너무 멀고(1시간 내외),주변에 이용할 수 있는 편의 시설이 전혀 없는 것이 큰 단점입니다.

1. 냉장고가 없습니다. 따라서 레스토랑이 문을 닫는 오후 9~10시 이후에는 시원한 물을 마실 수 없습니다.
2. 외부에서 반입한 음식이나 음료를 리조트 내(객실 포함)에서 먹으면 1.000페소의 Corkage를 지불해야 하며, 이 사실은 체크인 후에야 알려줍니다. 전체적으로 이 사실 때문에 숙박기간 내내 매우 마음이 불편했습니다.
3. 레스토랑의 음식은 대부분 별로입니다. 다만 스테이크는 훌륭했습니다.
4. 까빌라오 섬에서의 스노클링 중 Chapel point는 굉장했습니다.
5. 다만, 단독투어를 예약했는데 다른 팀도 투어를 희망하는 바람에 조인해야 했습니다. 먼저 예약했지만 우리에게 선택권이 없었습니다.
6. Corkage를 언급해 숙박 내내 심기를 불편하게 했던 키 큰 직원을 제외하면 모든 직원들이 매우 친절합니다.
7. 주변에 갈 데가 없습니다. 샌딩안 섬은 몇몇 리조트를 제외하면 찾아갈 식당 하나 없는 섬입니다.
8. 다만 이 리조트 바로 옆에 Vita isla라는 일종의 공원 같은 곳이 있으며, 비용을 내면 전망 좋은 수영장과 레스토랑을 이용할 수 있습니다. 여기는 꼭 한번 가보세요.
9. Vita isla 정문 앞에 25페소(500원)짜리 이발소 있습니다. 깎아봤는데, 이발사 실력이 괜찮습니다.

Our review of Sandingen Island Dive Resort is very simple and only a few words are necessary to describe this place and the people who will look after you during your stay.

Location is perfect and not crowded.
Relaxation is guaranteed in a tropical paradise.
The hosts Richelle and Erwin are very caring and ensure your total satisfaction with their attention to detail.This attitude is also provided by their excellent staff.
The food is excellent quality, inexpensive and you will never be hungry.
Accommodation is superb and very quiet.

This place is perfect irrespective of what you are seeking for a well earned holiday. You will not regret
making this your choice of places to stay in Bohol.

John and Cel - Baguio

Beautiful place, airy, super clean, bright rooms decorated with style and equipped with attention to detail. Amazing staff. The food is a bit more pricey and the portions smaller than we are used to in Philippines. Overall rating excellent, recommended for all kind of travellers.

Hosts / purveyors were very friendly, as was the staff. The resort is very new, well maintained and clean with great little design touches that make it feel fun and homey. Beautiful view from the dining hall overlooking the water greets you for breakfast and after your day of adventuring. Food was pretty good. The place is quite remote, which was fine for us for a couple of days. We arrived on motorcycles and were fairly autonomous. We were happy to have selected that location over the more touristy Panglao Island spots. We are not divers, so I cannot really speak to that, except to say that the resort is purpose built for diving and the owners seem very enthusiastic and knowledgable. No sand beach here.

I stayed at a few other resorts and none could compare to this one. The owners, the staff, rooms, everything top notch. They really made me feel that I was "home".

Sandingan resort opened less than a year ago, so the rooms and their diving equipment were like new. The Dutch couple who own the resort were amazing. The kitchen staff were very friendly and all the food was home cooked amazing. The diving staff were very professional. All the rooms (only 8 so it was cozy and designed very well) are spacious with A/C, ceiling fans, flat screen TVs with many channels, and well equipped bathrooms. At first I was a little worried that there were are no fridges in the rooms but, after a tiresome day of diving and snorkeling, I fell asleep quickly to miss a cold drink in the middle of the night. They also arranged motorcycle rental so we could ride around to the nearest town, since there is nothing nearby. The diving locations were wonderful since Erwin and Richelle (the owners who are also divers) knew all the great places. I will be returning to Sandingan next year, for sure!

Wonderful owners, Erwin and Richelle, friendly and informative. Great food, amazing scuba diving, super kind staff. Tasty home cooked meals, every time. Location is secluded and quiet. Rooms are spacious and clean. Awesome vacation!

I travelled with my girlfriend and we had the resort to ourselves for most of the stay, it being low season.

The pool is small but 3m deep, so fine for swimming and for doing confined water bits of the dive course for my gf.

Bar/restaurant area is small, but with uninterrupted views out to sea.

Diving on the neighbouring islands was excellent, though the closest sites, on Sandingham were not of the same quality.

New resort so everything is in excellent condition, unfortunately the curtains on the rooms are too small and too thin so even if you can sleep through the neighbours cockerels doing their 4am song routine, by 5am the rooms are light, making getting a full night of sleep difficult.
