Incredible location and super comfy bed
I liked everything
Location, rooftop pool, interior design.
Charging $200 for 2 hours to use a lounger by the pool is ridiculous and meant that no one used them whilst I was there.
One bad experience in the cafe where they were unable to bring any bread with the soup I ordered. Toast arrived after I had finished.
De locatie is echt top!
Dat deuren van de kamers dicht klapten wat veel lawaai veroorzaakte
Everything. The staff are lovely and welcoming, the bed is so comfortable, the amenities are great and location was spot on.
Excellent service and meticulous staff who were always ready to help with all requests, several small and one urgent. Impressed by this place.
Enjoyed everything. Pool was too busy but that's not the hotel's fault
1. Check-in is 3PM. Did not end up receiving a set of key cards until 4:48PM. Front desk provided a $100 food/beverage credit to the account.
2. We had preordered several amenities (crudite, charcuterie, and a snack caddy) that were supposed to be provided upon check-in. They were not. Had to email guest services and they sent up the order the following day at 10AM, as requested.
3. Televisions would frequently stop playing whatever program was on, providing the message: Scrambled Channel or Weak Signal. This became a regular occurrence requiring constant turning on and off again. A minor inconvenience.
4. My fellow travelers and I rented a few poolside daybeds during our stay for two consecutive days.
5. Pool Day One: Fantastic time! Service was attentive and lively, and the energy was high around the pool with my fellow guests. Very fun.
6. Pool Day Two: Totally different experience, same price paid. Staff was inattentive and could barely look up from their phones. After about fifteen minutes into our reservation, we inquired about menus which were immediately provided the day prior. We were provided menus and told we could order but they have no idea when the order would be processed. The attendant, very quick to tell us she was not a server, informed us she had no idea when the food and beverage service would begin. Nearly an hour into our reservation which cost $75 per hour, per bed, minimum, I emailed guest services again. Minutes later we were greeted by an individual named Kyle, who apologized profusely, and graciously comped our first round of drinks and food. I understand the vibe at a rooftop pool fluctuates with the weather, but if you are paying the same prices each day, maintaining a level of service is not only paramount, but the bare minimum.
7. Check-out is 12PM, but housekeeping came knocking at 10:50AM, asking if they could get started on one of our connected rooms. We reserved a two bedroom “Manhattan Suite” which was lovely, offered a lot of space, and included two small balconies which were excellent. There was a connected hallway between the primary suite and the double room next door. Housekeeping asked me to close the door to the primary so they could clean the double room. Again, check-out is 12PM, and you originally held the room until nearly 5PM the day we checked in. But sure, you can have half my suite back early.
8. Valet attendant put me in the wrong car at curbside. A small mistake and I absolutely should have confirmed the plates were correct before having the driver load my luggage into their car, but alas. The trip ended on a comedic note that was right on brand for my entite stay, in my opinion.
Location friendly staff comfortable and v clean room
Pool was amazing
It was a great location.
It was very expensive for the service. A tea cost about seven dollars. The window in the room was dirty in the sun. The bathroom was full of warnings not to take the toiletries. You have to pay extra for a sun lounger. Just a bit off for the cost.
We stayed at the Gansevoort for one night during our stay in New York City. The room was overpriced for generic moderate accommodation. The location is good for walking to Greenwich Village, West Village and Highline. Staff was friendly and accommodating, the rooftop bar is fun if you like a hip trendy scene. If you’re looking for a modern hotel, this might be a good fit, otherwise New York City offers many more high-end the hotels that feel more luxurious.
