The location was great. Would stay again but wasn’t exceptional.
Pros:

The location was great as were the staff.

Cons:

There are only a couple of lifts and as the rooftop is used as a bar you could be waiting for sometime for the lift to be able to access your room or leave your floor. Rooms were fine but fairly basic bathrooms (basic shower head over the bath)

Horrible check in experience. They were rude and even the manager was not helpful. After finally getting into the room is was dark, sparse, not worth the value at all

Pros:

Front Desk team of GRACE and Erika were the DREAM TEAM! FUNNY, helpful, professional and kind. Ross, all around everywhere guy..bellman, doorman and smile maker made every come/go happy. Rooms were clean and nice. Room service didn't start until 7AM which is TOUGH for morning coffee needs. Location great. We had a few issues but the above mentioned DREAM TEAM did everything in their control to make us HAPPY! THANK YOU and we will visit again!

What a great hotel
Pros:

Having considered similarly priced hotels in the Theatre district, we were so pleased to have chosen the Gansevoort, not just for the less crowded environment in which it is located but also for the generally open and friendly atmosphere and the staff who took the trouble to remember our names and were ever helpful.

The rooms were spacious and well equipped. Perhaps the feature that took some getting used to were the sliding doors, not only to the wardrobe but also to the bathroom. We soon got used to it but forgot to explain to guests who visited us.

On the top floor ( with an outdoor pool) is a great bar which clearly attracts a lot of people after work. We had a very pleasant supper there, entertained by an extensive firework display in Jersey City.

Otherwise we took breakfast out of the hotel (as I need gluten free food). There are many bars and restaurants within a short walk.

If we were to be back in NYC we would definitely stay here again.

Disappointing Stay Despite Great Location and Amenities
Pros:

I understand the Gansevoort has been around for a while and is hardly a new kid on the block. The rooms feel dated, and the staff come across as aloof and extremely unhelpful. However, the gym, sauna, and location are the hotel’s only redeeming qualities. I’ve stayed here before, but it had been a while, and this visit left me very disappointed by the lack of professionalism from the staff.

Pros:

I booked a room at $600 a night and when I checked in, there was another patron who was struggling atthe front desk to find a way to lower the temperature in his room. It was suggested to him that he opened the window. I got to my room and the temperature was 74° and I tried to adjust the thermostat to cool the room as I might expect I would be able to do in a high-end hotel. The thermostat was non-responsive and when I called the front desk, they offered me a fan and suggested I open a window. They also noted that when there were warm days, such as this that their systems weren’t capable of being responsive to these kinds of changes and suggested that given today was warm, but the remainder of the week was going to be cold again that they were not going to adjust their systems to be responsive to clients who were not able to address the heat in their room. At a hotel, such as this, I would expect that the engineering teams would be on call and ready to adjust up and down and facilitate the comfort of the guest staying in the hotel.

Pros:

The room was so comfy and clean. It was clear this was a 5-star, highly rated hotel, but without feeling stuffy. The food was delicious, and the staff was effortlessly supportive. I would absolutely stay there again. V

Cons:

I would have loved to see a plus-size option for the robe and larger towels. I would have loved to have breakfast included. I ordered Instacart. It would have been wonderful if the front desk had automatically delivered it to my room. These are all things that would be awesome extras, though, and did not take away at all from the wonderful experience I had.

Cons:

Sauberkeit die Wände hinter dem Bett hatten noch viele Handabdrücke vom Vorgänger wahrscheinlich bei seinem Sexakt.

l'emplacement : je suis assez fan de ce quartier de meatpacking
l'aspect "grosse cylindrée qui roule quasi sans à coups' de cet hôtel
la vue du roof top

Cons:

la piscine devrait être chauffée, comme le prétend vos publicités, tous les jours. Or ce n'est pas le cas
quand on en fait la remarque à l'un de vos employés, soudainement il ne comprend pas votre anglais : il faut élever la voix pour qu'une personne intervienne et vous explique qu'il va parler du problème aux ingénieurs. 100 % bullshit !
