Good location. Nice grounds, nice room
Cleanliness. Shower was mouldy, furniture dusty. Lots of bugs on the floor and windowsills.
The location is lovely and the building beautiful. The room was spacious with all amenities you need and a large bed. The breakfast was very good. All staff extremely friendly!
Myself and husband wasn't personally impressed with not actually having an enclosed bathroom in our bedroom. The sink area was on view, and the toilet and shower in glass cubicles where you could see through the sides, or through the centre shaded glass panels if the lights were on. This layout didn't provide much privacy. I am unsure if all of the bathrooms are like this, as we stayed in what appears to be the annexe section. The pillows on the bed were extremely hard to, and didn't provide us with a full good night's sleep.

Room was dirty. Dust on tops of bed frame, spider webs on ceiling, green mould inside of water tank of nespresso machine, splash marks on wall tiles in bathroom
Friendly staff - flight was delayed so arrived in early hours to check in. Receptionist when I called to update arrival time was lovely and night porter very welcoming. Due to delay we were only in the hotel for about 10 hours but it was nice while it lasted! Decor in communal areas fabulous and great balance of original features and modern design. However…
…we weren’t a fan of form over function especially there being no door between the bedroom and bathroom areas. When in bed, the lights were very bright when switched on in the night by my other half so this woke me up, shining directly in my eyes! The toilet door did not fit ‘flush’ (!) to the surrounding wall so left nothing to the imagination sound-wise regarding our ablutions and movements. No practical hooks for wet towels and, as a slightly-short-of-5- foot-female, the mirror above the sink was too high and the shaving mirror didn’t tilt and only magnified. So, great to look at and photograph for Insta but not great in practice.
Emailed a few days before our stay to inform of heating issue - offered heater but no compensation- in event we had a ground floor room that was apparently unaffected.
Staff were excellent, breakfast was one of the best I’ve had in a hotel.
Didn’t like the bathroom set up so much. Not a proper door on the toilet cubicle which is connected straight to the bedroom so not much privacy there.
Was on the ground floor and found it very noisy in the morning with people milling about in the hallway. Maybe could do with something on the floor up against the door to block out hallway noise.

Gorgeous hotel!
Lovely location, friendly staff, and great food (evening meal and breakfast).
The room was spacious, clean and comfortable.
Even though the heating was broken (we were informed in advance), there was a portable heater, so the room was comfortable.
We loved the quirky decorations, and blending of new with old, lots of thought had gone into that.
We missed the little things like biscuits to go with the tea/coffee, shower cap (for wife), complimentary provisions in the bathroom ( there is hand soap and shower gel) etc, yes these are minor, but do make a difference when you pay the rates we did.
The deco within the establishment was magnificent! The grounds were well kept and pleasing to stroll through. Very picturesque! Given I had to leave early the next morning before breakfast the option of room service made my stay more fulfilling.

No view from the room. Think this is because it overlooks a public park. Breakfast was average. £5 charge for room service. Very limited parking.

Elegant stylish hotel with quirky touches. We were unable to make the most of breakfast service as we were leaving early but were offered a selection of cold items to take with us, which was thoughtful.
