Went to an 80th birthday. A 3 course meal.. the starter bre and cranberry,, clearly brought in from a catering company.. OK it is what it is !! Main meal roast beef Yorkshire pudding roast potatoes ect !!! Beef was so tough had to ask for a stake knife .. I truly couldn't eat it . Ordered cheese board . Asked for a cheese knife .. ( the cheese by the way had come out of the fridge !!! Who eats cheese straight from the fridge brea other soft cheese ) apparently this hotel 100s of years old didn't have a cheese knife) I would rather go to mac Donald's that eat here again .. I have over the years eaten stayed here because it's locall, my friend sadly hosted her 80th here !!! She was totally ripped off ...I am mortified to putting this out as a review...
The worst Sunday Lunch I’ve had in the area
The roast beef was tough , small portion of roast potatoes
The only thing ok was the gravy
9 of us went with friends from abroad it was an embarrassment
Ate here on Christmas eve as a party of eight,to celebrate my partners birthday.
Friendly service, good sized portions and served piping hot. Varied menu seated in the panelled dining room.
Good choice of drinks
Unbelievable in a bad way! First time I've left a negative review. Food is ok but service is horrendous. A server with red hair came over to our table and was not welcoming at all and came across as very rude when we had questions about the menu, as well as shouting at the other younger servers. No way to run a business, definitely missed out on few quid here.
Poor experience. The new menus had errors. I was overcharged. A bacon sandwich used to come with salad. The price has gone up, it's now a dry roll, and no salad. Very disappointing. And I was charged £2.50 for one friend egg as an extra. Pretty poor value. The staff are lovely; friendly and helpful. £3.40 for a mint teabag in hot water.
We booked this hotel as a night stopover on our way to Bletchley Park, we arrived at around 15:00 and managed to grab the last parking space in the small carpark, however there was plenty of additional free overnight parking in the car park just at the back of the hotel.
The room, whilst a little dated, was clean and tidy with everything you would need for an overnight stay. We decided to eat in the hotel which was an excellent choice as their was a good choice of Menu even though it was 'Pub Grub' the food arrived fairly quickly and was very good, we were both full at the end of the meal. The breakfast was also very good and filling, we managed to walk around Bletchley Park without having to eat again all day.
All in all a very good hotel that I would recommend and if I am ever back in the area I would have no hesitation in booking again.
Went here for brunch as we were visiting parents in Lathbury Manor, just down the road. Car park is really small but there is park8ng nearby. Food was hot and very good presentation. Service was friendly and attentive
No complaints about the room, comfortable and quiet. Sat for breakfast in lounge area with our dog but never forgotten waitress was helpful. Did not have a meal as vegetarian options are limited but plenty of nearby restaurants so it was not a problem
Had my wife’s 60th birthday party in the restaurant room which was perfect. The buffet food was excellent and the service was first class. The staff were so friendly and helpful which made for a stress free evening. Thank you to all concerned for making a very enjoyable evening and a happy wife.
I recommend this venue for a great party.
Afternoon Tea with a group of friends at the Swan Revived this week was excellent! The food was superb, everything we ate was top quality!
Limited parking but adjacent car parking is adequate
Service from booking in to leaving was good. Polite and professional. Unfortunately the room allocated was above the outside bar area and was incredibly noisey until past midnight. Would not stay there again as couldn't get any sleep due to the level of noise until early hours. If your offered room 107 do not accept it and ask to be changed!!!!!
Good location with free parking. Very nice breakfast and meals in the restaurant
Arrived on 8/9/25 for a one night stay. Checked in and went up to our room, to leave our bag before going out for a meal. Popped into the en-suite and was greeted by a disgusting toilet, flushed 3 times and it was still dirty. We went downstairs to complain to the manager , who went up to have a look and offered us another room, which declined and got a refund. Not a pleasant experience
All excellent from check in to check out.
Wonderful place I would like to give 5 stars but the lady at check in was a bit rude
Quick check in process, staff are friendly & helpful. Great that the bar is open until late!
Bar area and restaurant, good service, looks great from the front. Great Indian restaurant and pubs nearby.
We stayed at the Swan Revived Hotel for one night on Friday 8th August. The building itself is steeped in history, which gives it a unique charm. However, the room itself was disappointing. The only thing we genuinely liked was the Lowry painting above the bed—it was a distinctive feature, though my husband found it rather curious given L.S. Lowry’s strong association with the North of England. It felt slightly out of place in a hotel located in the south-east Midlands.
The layout felt rather strange, with the washbasin positioned in the bedroom next to the television, which seemed impractical and potentially unsafe. The bathroom only contained the toilet and shower, making the setup feel incomplete. The décor was dated and would benefit from a fresh coat of paint and a modern update—ideally something that still respects the building’s heritage.
The room also lacked air conditioning, and on one of the hottest and most humid nights, this made sleeping quite uncomfortable.
Overall, while the hotel’s historical character is appealing, the comfort and layout of the room left us uncertain about returning. We might consider trying one of the upgraded rooms in future, but we would need to feel confident that the experience would be more balanced.
Wash basin water very slow in draining. Shower head fell out of holder whilst showering, caused bruise on foot. Excessive noise early morning from delivery personnel pushing trollies outside window. Otherwise all good and bed very comfortable. Fantastic full English breakfast. Managed to park at rear of hotel for the 2 nights I had booked.
