The Mill Inn

Loved it.

This has to be one of my favorite hotel stays of all time! Fantastic room and unbelievable customer service. Had a bit of an issue on my end which was accommodated by management with care and swiftness I have never experienced. Angie saved our entire weekend!

Our room was very comfortable and large. The restaurant downstairs is excellent although it has limited hours. I can't review the staff because there is no visible staff. Check in is by text. The only drawback is there is NO elevator and all rooms are on the second floor.

Did not stay. Wall in insulated screaming and banging innnext room. Nobody to assist no office. No reply to my text. I left withinn26 minutes of arrival. No close parking or handicapped parking no elevator steps and walking everywhere

Room was freezing with no ability to adjust temperature! There’s no one here, so you get a text for entering the building and room! Paid for a partial river view which was not true! Room was clean, comfortable and located in the heart of town, but there is no amenities and no staff if you require assistance other than a number to call!

Quiet and clean room. Large space and comfortable bed. Nice having a good coffee shop right downstairs.

Our stay couldn’t have been better. The staff was delightful. The food was excellent. The room was gorgeous. Highly recommend.

The room was tidy and overlooked the river. Falling asleep to the sound of water rushing over the old mill dam was very special. The restaurant below the hotel had the best coffee and espresso in Maine. No hyperbole. The best.

We had a fabulous meal in the restaurant over the weekend. It is a “you get what is fresh and in season” menu with a few decisions for the guest to customize. People may unfairly consider this restrictive whereas we thought it highly pragmatic and forward thinking. If there’s only a few wines, it’s because they are good. If there’s only a few options on main courses, also good. The service and food was excellent overall. In terms of hotel experiences, we enjoyed the self service entry and checkout. No lines, final bills, awkward barriers in or out.

There are a lot of hidden gems in Maine, and people ramble about culinary experiences that punch above their weight class. Our experience was a nuanced, sensory joy just being around salt of the earth locals and a weekend getaway that firmly cemented itself as just a time when everything felt right.

We’ve done a lot of Michelin dining, and sometimes the se donner de grands airs (putting on airs) is cloistering and decimates mirth and the quiet smiles of a thing done consistently well because it’s the right way to live. This experience lets you love Maine.

Great place. I would stay again. Difficult to watch TV. 2 remotes.... not sure which one to use....no directions. ..not many stations....many need a subscription to watch. Great cafe in same building underneath rooms

The food at the Mill Cafe was incredible and the view from room 1 was very nice. We had a great time!

Clean, new, modern and comfortable. The most mod lodging in the great north woods.

Cool industrial design and scenic river view.

Room 2 was awesome. Wish we could have stayed longer! Pleasantly surprised with how good the cafe was downstairs. We will definitely stay here next time!

Entrance very poorly marked. Luckily the front door was unlatched ( it was unable to latch & lock). No staff. Wandered around until we found what was supposed to be our room but have not combination to get in. Called the # we were given which went to voicemail with a full mailbox. Called the local police dispatch who was very helpful and knew someone who could contact the correct person to get the combination. Very poor system.

I loved the Mill. I'd stay there again....it was wonderful!

Room 3 was lovely, clean, beds were comfy.
There is not much sound proofing so you can hear the cafe below, but it isn't overwhelmingly loud. The check-in process is more like an airbnb, I got the lock codes via text 30 mins before check in time, which was a little nerve-wracking. It was a nice spot to relax for a night.
