The Royal Alexandra Hotel by Compass Hospitality

We booked through booking.com so were charged an extra £50.00 for breakages up front which was refundable if there were no damages. This was disappointing as this was not discused prior to booking so this will not be happening again! The hotel lift did not work and we had to have staff help us up and down the steep steps with bags. The first room we were allocated had all I can describe as 'rubble' or 'cement' dumped in the bottom of the shower tray. We originally booked three beds in one room but ended up moving to another two allocated rooms which were small but at least we were able to have 3 beds.

We where booked for the Alexandra but had to be moved to The Boston Hotel due to unforeseen work being carried out at that hotel however this hotel was to far out from the main centre due to walking difficulties we were restricted to taxis a-lot of the time which was an unexpected cost to the weekend.

A limpeza muito pobre... No quarto e no espaços comuns.
Toalhas, lençóis e lixo foi deixado 1 dia e uma noite no corredor dos quartos! 😔

The only tiny little thing that I would personally would of liked to see is a USB socket in the room. That's nor here nor there. Still would recommend and would definitely stay again.

Shower was a little low in pressure but was still able to get clean.

Bydleli jsme v pokoji v posledním patře a byla tam cítit taková zvláštní zatuchlina a při příjezdu v pokoji lítali moli. Přátelé co bydleli v nižších patrech, tak tento problém neměli.

The rooms were just too warm, needs fan/ air con in hot weather, plus heating came on morning we were leaving

Rooms were small and a bit tired but for the price they were fine.

The heating was on in the room and was so so hot getting ready

One downside is that the hotel can be a little noisy at certain times, depending on the time of year and what events are taking place nearby. During our stay, there was also a power cut, although thankfully it did not take too long to resolve. Another issue was that the key cards were quite temperamental. On a few occasions we were locked out of the room and had to return to reception to have the cards reset, and even then they did not always work immediately. At one point it nearly required staff to bring the full unlocking equipment before the issue was eventually resolved.

L’établissement était fermé à notre arrivée et la réservation est transférée vers un autre hôtel sans que nous soyons avertit ! Résultat : arrivée de l’aéroport à 21, sous la pluie, dans le vent, dans l’obscurité du soir, et dans un quartier mal fréquenté. Tout cela avec un enfant de 13 ans ! Nous avons paniqué et le numéro de téléphone de l’hôtel est injoignable !
