Rancho Sak-Ol

This small hotel was in a quiet location outside the beach town of Puerto Morelos. The rooms were comfortable, however, the beds were suspended from the ceiling, which some people may find uncomfortable. The buffet style breakfast was good. There was the option of preparing eggs yourself, which we did. The kitchen was also available for guests to store (in the fridge) and to prepare your own food at other times of the day. The hotel had bicycles that guests could borrow to ride into town.

Quiet out of the way hotel about a mile from the square. Breakfast was good with cereals, toast and eggs available. Room was functional and the property well kept. Would stay again.

Great beach but too rocky and shallow to go swimming.
Room was fine and space provided in communal refrigerator too keep stuff cold.
Bikes provided for going to town which is 1+ KM away and has limited parking but nice beach.

A perfect place to escape the hectic energy of tourism. This is a little piece of paradise where clearly the management are making all the right decisions to create an experience you won't forget.

En general se recibió lo que se pagó, solamente tres observaciones.
1. El desayuno incluido en parte es “hágalo usted mismo”, si quieres un par de huevos pues te los debes de preparar tú mismo, ahí te proporcionan todo lo necesario, insumos, trastes y cocina.
2. El área de playa podría estar con más atención, pues si bien es sabido que es zona de sargazo, encontramos algo de basura y pedazos de vidrio en la arena.
El personal muy amable y atento a las solicitudes que se les hacen.
3. Las habitaciones podrían estar mejor iluminadas, hay una o dos luminarias con focos de baja potencia.
Regresaríamos? Si, definitivamente si.

Rancho is a beach side B&B that is the perfect for travelers looking for a tranquil place to relax next to a quiet tropical beach with white sand and hammocks hanging from your patio or under a beach palapa.

Some positive points:
*Beachside location.
*Drinking water dispenser in room.
*Daily breakfasts that included fresh fruits, fresh orange juice, coffee/tea, cereals, bread, and eggs (which you cook for yourself).
*Free snorkeling equipment (although the water in front of Rancho was not great for snorkeling).
*Quiet beach area (although not great for swimming either).
*Communal kitchen to store or cook your food, with basic cooking items provided (ie, oil, spices, salt, sugar, pots, pans, utensils, etc.).
*Friendly staff.
*Interesting hanging bed & hammocks in covered patio in front of room.
*Beautiful tropical garden environment.
*Bikes provided for guests.

Some negative points:
*Facilities were basic & water pressure for shower or sink was very weak.
*Property was about a 25 minutes walk to downtown, some of which is along a major road with no shoulder or street lights. Not advisable to walk or bike after sunset.
*Only 1 restaurant in close vicinity.
*No staff to help with luggage.

If not for its location by the sea, I'd give this place 3 stars.

Simply loved this place. In a sea of utter chaos and overdevelopment along the Mayan coast, it is a quiet little paradise that really felt like the “chill” experience we were seeking. Our room was lovely, the staff were so helpful, and the breakfast and kitchen access were wonderful; we only had 4 days so didn’t take full advantage of that but it is a great option if you’re able to stay for a while. It is not the most beautiful beach spot around but for that ideal you’d pay 3x the price and the overall atmosphere is just lovely. Since the whole area is past a military check point it all felt incredibly safe, and is a quick zip to town as well. Nice to see a place like Sak-Ol still exists after all the change in that area. Thanks for a great stay!

Beautiful little beach side boutique hotel. Friendly and hard working staff! Balcony, hammocks and a beautiful view. A short walk or bike ride away from the town center of Puerto Morelos.

Small friendly safe compound with a beautiful beach and great location.

The WiFi does not work. The parking is terrible. The staff is very rude. They have no television.

The food is very basic and if you want eggs you have to make them yourself. The fruit was not very good and it was scarce.

Söpö majoitus kävelymatkan päässä Puerto Morelos keskustasta. Köysien varassa oleva sänky oli kuin vauvan kehdossa olisi nukkunut. Rauhallinen sijainti ja superihana palvelu. Tämä olisi ihana paikka majoittua kaveriporukalla, istua iltaa rannalla musiikista nauttien ja fiilistellen. Aamupala oli todella hyvä ja oli kiva kun sen tekoon sai itse osallistua.

Sak-Ol Ranch is a stunning place away from the noise. We found this hotel by chance and are very happy. Pristine nature, beautiful apartments, private beach, delicious fruit and attentive staff made our vacation amazing. Very clean and cozy. We are very grateful to the female employees for their comfort and attention. We will definitely recommend to friends and look forward to our next vacation to visit this ranch. Our ocean view room was amazing and we fell in love with it and Mexico at first sight.

I liked enough to extend my stay 5 days

el hotel en si no esta mal, esta limpio y apunta a ser un lugar netamente de descanso.
no se puede hacer playa alli, a pesar de que esta frente al mar no es un lugar apto para baños y ademas cuando fuimos habia mucho sargazo y mal olor
y por ultimo si no vas en auto el lugar esta en sitio tipo reserva ecologica privada, esta alejado y solo puedes moverte en taxi, no hay nada cerca.

Being just outside the town, and with free bike hire it was perfect. Set right on the beach, huge bed on ropes, the staff were super helpful in arranging day trips, and in advice about how to get around. I would definitely stay here again.

What a unique and beautiful place! Rooms are clean and staff is super friendly and helpful. Breakfast is delicious.
It is located just under a mile south of the center of Puerto Morelos where you will find a beautiful public beach, snorkeling, shopping and many amazing restaurants. Strongly recommend borrowing the free bicycles to get back and forth - so much fun!
Honestly wouldn't want to stay anywhere else!
