The hotel is very close to a bus stop, which makes commuting to the city centre easy.

The bathroom was spacious and clean.
I tried calling the hotel before arriving, but received no reply. At my arrival, at around 7pm, I had to wait at the reception for about ten minutes, after ringing a bell to call a member of staff. Some staff walked by, but did not acknowledge me. I appreciate they might have been busy (although the pub did not seem busy to me), and a simple acknowledgement of my presence would have been enough. I eventually went around to the pub area to find a member of staff who could help me, before being told I had to wait longer. This was not tragic, but not pleasant either.
The walls of my room were very thin, and I could clearly hear people having conversations in other rooms, as well as the noise from the pub downstairs. I could hear people walking along the corridor or up and down the stairs. The room was also very grey. A bit of colour would be enough to brighten up the space :)
Breakfast was poor bacon and sausage was half cooked for what I paid
One of the bar staff wasn’t very pleasant also the staff would be on there phone was waiting to be served

The room had everything you want for an overnight
Not much...perhaps bed and pillows a little hard but that's very subjective and possibly not fair to comment on.
Room slighty stuffy as not much window opening but as on a busy road that's understandable
The room was spotless and the shower was great powerful with hot water each time
The heater in the room didn’t work - even though, when we told staff, we were told it was on a timer - it never came on. The weather was particularly cold that weekend and a cosy room would have been appreciated
