La Palma Polo Hotel

I'm usually pretty picky but I can't think of anything I didn't like about La Palma.

Unfortunately, our room had several issues. There was no window or proper ventilation, making the room feel stuffy. The doors were damaged, and the main door lock did not work properly. The bathroom also had no window or ventilation system, and the shower drain was clogged, causing water to overflow onto the bathroom floor.

We had requested an extra bed in advance, but it was not provided. As a result, the four of us had to sleep in one bed. Although the bed was large, it was not comfortable for four people, and we did not get a good night’s sleep.

The concept of the Polo Club is wonderful, and several of the amenities are very nice. The gardens are beautiful, and the rooms were clean. However, the overall quality of the rooms is disappointing due to poor construction, low-quality materials, and a lack of maintenance.

For example, the wooden wardrobes and doors were already damaged and looked worn, and the wooden flooring on the terrace was in very poor condition.

The bedroom could not be properly darkened because too much light came through the curtains, making it difficult to sleep well. In addition, the walls offer very little sound insulation. We could clearly hear conversations and noise from the neighboring rooms. On our first morning, we were woken up at 6:30 a.m. because the guest next door was talking loudly on her phone. It was a very disappointing experience and significantly affected our comfort.

Everything was great

The sky light in the bathroom made it quite hot and it was angled straight at the vanity, so heat on you when using the mirror. Lighting in the room was a bit dim. No overhead light. Restaurant service was a little slow. Evening server was great, but morning one didn't speak much english. It is a 30 min drive from the airport.

We don’t want to sound picky as the place is really lovely but the outside afternoon table service that we experienced was poor - Sat outside for drinks and waitress introduced herself saying she would be looking after us but after our first drink we never saw her again . No member of staff revisited our table . We had to go inside twice to ask for service with a total wait time of approx 20 mins to take our order. I’d like to think this was a one off .

The place is very limited and extremely far from everywhere. Your basically extremely isolated. The units are not equipped correctly , many bugs everywhere in the rooms, room service is horrible and non existent after 7:00pm THERE IS NOBODY TO HELP YOU WITH ANYTHING AFTER 7 PM??? We asked for taxi service at 7:30 and nobody came for us??? We tried to speak to a manager but NOBODY HELPED US NOR CARED. NEEDLESS TO SAY WE WOULD NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN!!!
