The gated area was safe.
The breakfast was delicious and spicy.
A generator keeps the power running during cuts.
Unfortunately, there were huge money problems.
When I arrived, I transferred the full amount via my UK bank. This came with an additional fee, but I paid it out of my own pocket because I had no other choice.
Of course, international transfers take several days, which annoyed them, but since I was booked for a week, I thought they would be fine with that.
Instead, they hounded me around every corner and made me feel like a criminal. It was tense and uncomfortable. I felt unsafe and unwelcome.
To ease their minds, I spent HOURS on the phone and online with my bank, which was difficult considering how terrible their wifi was. I managed to provide several screenshots and documents from my bank, which assured them the money was coming.
After a few days, they sent me a Whatsapp, and I quote: "It was made known [the money] will be refunded to you because an international bank can't send to a local bank without converting." (I have a screengrab)
This was a complete lie.
I spoke to my bank, and they said Triple Tee Hotel must provide a UETR document to prove this. They refused.
By this point, I'd had enough. I withdrew cash from an ATM (which cost me a LOT in additional fees) and paid for the days I had stayed, packing my bags to leave 4 days early.
Of course, the bank transfer came through, and suddenly their attitude changed, all polite smiles and apologies, but by that time I was nearly in tears and did not want to stay anymore. I told them to refund the bank transfer. They did so in cash, meaning I had to travel across Lagos with bags full of naira, which put me at risk. Still, I was happy to get out of there.
This was such a traumatic event that I let Booking know, and they thankfully got involved. However, because of this, Triple Tee Hotel continued to pester me for MONTHS afterwards, demanding I speak to Booking on their behalf.
I understand problems happen. But they lied to my face. They ruined my Nigerian experience.
It’s serenity and cleanliness
There was nothing not to like
Nothing at all. Left immediately.
Nothing as it appears online. Run down building. Sketchy location. Didn’t even stay
The location is peaceful and not very far from the venue of the event I was attending. There are also shops, restaurants and all that in the neighbourhood. Moreover, the staff, particularly one whose name I forgot to ask, are very friendly and caring.
The Internet connection should be better. Likewise, the breakfast.
Good location, good staff, room was as advertised with AC, fridge, toiletries, breakfast brought to your room.
Only minor issue. A little bit more customer attention needed. After check in, had to call reception to ask for WiFi code, how to turn on AC. We were not told how to turn on water heater to get hot water
No noise and feel secure
General service’s & bathroom space
The Bed was very conformtable, the staffs were professional and friendly , there was constant power to keep the AC's working , the location is great and well secured.
The room I was given was too small and very tight, not enough space to move , I did book for a spacious room and was given a samll tight room. THE SEWAGE of the toilet was smelling in my room and in the toilet. Very offensive and sulphuric odour .
The hospitality, the cleanliness, and constant electricity
Nothing
Thanks for the service
The room was spacious enough.
Lots of people smoked weed in the compound.
Very nice option in Surulere if you’re looking for clean, comfortable, secure, and friendly. Customer service was top-notch, breakfast was good, plentiful, and mostly on time. I even decided to extend my stay. Thank you for having a login for Netflix and special thanks to Kemi, Lekon, Elizabeth, and Godwin. Excellence staff on site
Wi-Fi would come and go in terms of speed and connection strength but I think that is normal.
The room was clean 24 hours electricity
Everything ok
My first night was a big mess,as the bedsheets were full of sperm juice, prints of dirty legs and wrought bed sheets and dirty foam liners. I complained vehemently and was about checking myself out but the manager gave me another room.
This room has a very high bed, I have to climb to get in despite my height, while my wife really struggled to get in.
No hemp odour was perceived despite its location.
The entire staff is very attentive, friendly, and helpful. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. The location is safe and has many restaurants nearby.
I will not hesitate to stay at this hotel again when I return to Nigeria.
