Pros:

It was a lovely quiet home full of character. Having said that our room was never cleaned. We had to ask for more towels, toilet paper and i could not get the shampoo out of the bottle so, bring your own. No one was there to greet us, we had trouble getting into our room, we were afraid to use the commercual stove...there were no instructions anywhere. Seeing a master propane shut off valve was intimidating. Close to town within walking distance.

Pros:

A beautiful setting in an historic home, on a quiet street near the harbour and shopping district, with spacious rooms and use of fully equipped kitchen and beautiful dining room. We were pleasantly surprised and pleased to find an elevator for the upper rooms. Excellent communication with host Eric and friendly support from cleaning staff. I will definitely stay here again if I have the good fortune to return to St John's.

Pros:

We loved the character of this very old yet well preserved home in downtown St. John's. It was beautifully furnished, clean & comfortable - within an easy walking distance to the downtown and Quidi Vidi. The staff was friendly & helpful. The kitchen was supplied with everything we needed to make our own meals. The only complication we had was with the flush in our suite. Although they had a plumber come to check it out, we continued to have difficulty getting it to flush. They were having the plumber return on the day we left. We would definitely rent this accommodation again!

Monroe House is a beautiful heritage property. It is composed of suites where you also have access to the public areas of this large home. There really is no staff on site although management is always available by phone. We loved it!

Pros:

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Munroe house. The home is beautiful and the suites spacious with everything we needed for our stay. We used the kitchen for a quick breakfast before our day and we even cooked up a lobster dinner, we had everything needed in the kitchen.Bonnie was a great resource for restaurants and local sites. The location was great, a short walk to restaurants and some of sites. We loved our stay.

Pros:

Not a typical B and B or hotel with front desk, but a very comfortable stay for us and for the others who were booked at Monroe House during our stay. The rooms are very spacious and the property is beautiful and well maintained. It is in a lovely neighborhood close to Duckworth and Water Streets and within walking distance of Signal Hill and Quidi Vidi lake. The public spaces - kitchen, bar/lounge, dining room - are available for use during your stay. Eric, who manages the bookings, was very helpful. Bonnie, who looks after the property, was welcoming and assisted us as necessary. We would definitely stay here again and will recommend to others.
