Robin is super cool and nice. I think she was learning some new systems and everything went swimmingly. Fun person. Helpful. I had to do a webinar event (present it) and she got me into the business room, closed the doors and had waitresses serve me in there. She's a great representation of the place. Other girl at the desk I didn't catch her name but also sweeheart and welcoming.
My husband's poached eggs were overcooked.
Our standard king room was small, could have had another chair. The shower head in the bathroom was not placed in a good location. You needed to get into the shower to turn the water on because the door was fixed near the faucet.
Nice location
No style,
This is my review about the Fenway Hotel and autograph collection located in Dunedin Florida. We booked this reservation on January 28, 2026 to check in on Monday, March 2 and check out Tuesday, March 3. On one reservation number we booked two rooms and these rooms are US$500 a night. Upon arrival they check in front desk to employees were extremely nice but together they moved at the pace of one person. Singularly they moved so slow it took nearly 10 minutes for them to make three raspberry welcome drinks. I would love to pretend that was the least of our worries. When we received our room keys we were told that we were both on the second floor of the hotel but unfortunately our rooms are at the complete opposite end of the hotel. I’d like to start there and ask how that is acceptable. Two rooms were reserved on the same confirmation number at the exact same time. This would imply that we are traveling together. And the blank space stare we got back from the front desk receptionist when we said how is that possible? We booked these reservations together under one reservation. It is not as though we booked them separately. She literally had no answer. We were met with silence. So yes, this is an inconvenience, but not the reason for my review as we will live it’s definitely not acceptable, but it will have to do. We took the only elevator in the whole building and it was a sauna. Like seriously if it ever got stuck, and you were in it, there is likely a health violation for hot how the only hotel elevator is. So now we are in our rooms and need dinner. We then went to go to the restaurant which was conveniently closed on the day we checked in and then we went to the rooftop for food and drinks, which was so full we couldn’t even walk in. This matched our experience at the valet the two valet workers very nice people running around like chickens with their heads cut off. We have no choice, but I’ll leave this hotel and go and get some dinner elsewhere and this is where we found out from the very nice valet people who took about 10 minutes to get our car that just before we arrived 60 people unannounced showed up to dine at the rooftop patio. And they had to park cars appropriate enough for 60 people right when we arrived. And I mean, I understand the hotel is not gonna turn away that business but way to not let your actual paid guests. Use your services and we know your hotel is sold out on our stay so the hotel is literally saying oh 60 ppl no reservation? That’s fine we don’t care what our actual guests who paid to be here eat or drink we left and found a restaurant. And I wish this review could stop there but now it’s 9 PM and we actually do have some drink drinks on the rooftop patio. And my sister went back to our room for a moment. She was gone for over an hour. Our room key just stopped working for room 278. To the front desk she went and they reprogrammed the key. It still did not work. She returned to the front desk again again reprogram the key. It still did not work. A third time she went to the front desk and said I’d like a whole new key. I do not understand what is going on here. The front desk worker didn’t know either and gave her a whole new key and sent maintenance with her. The key did not work and maintenance. Master key did not work. The maintenance worker was the nicest interaction we had at the whole hotel. He was truly shocked. He could not open our room door and had to go and get what I would call a clothesline, stick it under the door and maneuver it up blindly to unlock it for us and then told us there are no more electronic readers to go into a door and they will have to order that and we will have to stay in our room for the whole night as the hotel is sold out and they can’t move us anywhere. He was very apologetic and said he would tell the front desk who would call us for some sort of refund or resolution as this is unacceptable and well, I agree with him that is unacceptable. No phone call from the front desk ever came. How can you run a hotel and have no backups in case anything breaks and then the only answer you have for your guests are I guess just stay locked in your room for the whole night when he left our front door didn’t even have a lock on it anymore. It was fully removed. So this hotel operates with zero parts on hand. If as it was explained “the key card mother board is fired” and the hotel is full, oh well, this is your problem now, thanks for the $500 usd room fee suckers. 2/10 and that’s only b/c we were in walking distance to our reason for staying at the hotel.
We have stayed at this hotel when friends from up north visit in the area. This time the gym was well ventilated as opposed to last year. Our room 254 overlooked the water. Customer service is exceptional as is the charm of the building. We got complimentary champagne upon checking in. There is live entertainment at 6pm as well as a rooftop bar that is usually crowded a little before sunset. After sunset, most left. Our room was comfortable for the 2 nights we were there. Also valet parking is available and basically a must since there is no parking in the immediate area.
Location, cleanliness, friendly staff, comfortable bed.
We were on first floor and at 8:30 am they were using a leaf blower outside our window. Also when I showered I had very little hot water. Windy so the roof top bar was closed.
The history of the hotel was cool
The bathroom floor was wonky, floor seemed mushy and mold in corners of bathroom ceiling
Breakfast - terrible, location- average
Hi-Fi bar food. No room service. Not enough seating in room. Bathroom sized for midgets.
I was in town for meeting just a one night stay. Quirky hotel I was very surprised by the size of room and tiny bathroom. Very clean but small and at this price point I expected better. Super friendly valets and check-in very good. Main bar sophia was awesome
Very expensive breakfast. Small omelette side of bacon and a coffee $33 plus tip
Would I stay again ? Only if I had to attend a meeting
The Fenway Hotel was perfect for our team meeting of 20. The Caldessi meeting room has wonderful natural light with an adjacent terrace for outside eating. The staff are so accommodating and helpful. The chef is excellent and produced tasty food. The facility is beautiful and unique. Directly across the street from the water with beautiful sunsets. Quaint town and restaurants are within 8-10 minute walk. Highly recommend.
Attended a Wedding last night that was magnificent. The venue was perfect. Well done. The main bar was a good place too start. I however one of the bartenders name David needs sensitivity training. The young lady that we met ended her shift and was replaced by another young lady that was equally polite. This guy David was not. Not the kind of person the Fenway would want their patrons to meet on arrival.
Terrible Experience at Fenway Hotel, Autograph Collection – Avoid This Place!
1/5 Stars – Absolutely Disgraceful Service
I stayed at the Fenway Hotel in Dunedin, Florida, expecting a decent boutique experience from a Marriott Autograph Collection property. What a massive disappointment! The absolute low point came on checkout day when we went down to the on-site restaurant, HEW Parlor & Chophouse, at 9:30 AM for breakfast – a perfectly reasonable time since they serve it until at least 1-2 PM on weekends.
We were bluntly told there were no tables available because they had reservations for two large groups, and since we hadn’t made a prior reservation, tough luck! Are you kidding me? We’re paying guests at the hotel, checking out that morning, and you prioritize external groups over your own residents? No apology, no effort to accommodate us, no alternative suggestions – just a flat-out rejection. We had to scramble and leave hungry, ruining our departure.
This is not how you treat hotel guests, especially in a supposed upscale property. It feels like they care more about booking big parties for revenue than providing basic amenities to people actually staying there. Unacceptable, rude, and utterly unprofessional. If you’re staying here, don’t count on using the restaurant without begging for a reservation in advance – even for something as simple as breakfast.
The rest of the stay was mediocre at best, but this breakfast fiasco sealed it: I will never return and strongly advise others to skip the Fenway Hotel. There are plenty of better options in Dunedin that actually value their guests. Save your money and your sanity!
The staff in general were friendly, professional and really provided a good customer experience. The food was excellent and we ate most meals there. The room decor was furnished beautifully. It was our first time visiting the Fenway and it was overall a great experience and we will return.
we were in room 222 which evidently was just below the rooftop bar area. That created somewhat of a noise issue during the day although we were all right at nite. The bartender at the rooftop bar AND the bartender in the lobby could benefit from some customer service training. In both instances, we were left with the impression they were doing us a favor in bringing us a drink. Their customer service skills when compared to the rest of the staff we interacted with were mediocre at best. In addition The quality of the drinks seemed to reflect their attitude. not a good experience.
We had an agent meeting at the hotel and had our agents stay anywhere from 2-4 nights while other activities were happening. They thoroughly enjoyed watching the sunset from the roof and the food we had for breakfast and lunch at our conference was fantastic. Some also ate at the steakhouse on property and said the atmosphere and food was excellent.
Many of our agents brought their families to enjoy the Dunedin/Clearwater area during the trip and they were so happy it was easy to get around to the beach areas.
They were easily able to walk to downtown Dunedin where there are shops and restaurants to choose from and the location is just adjacent to Clearwater Beach. It is a unique boutique hotel and absolutely worth staying at a very reasonable price!!
As frequent visitors to the Clearwater/Tampa area (I would consider myself an expert on all the hotels in the greater Tampa, Clearwater, St Pete, and surrounding areas), my sisters and I were looking for a place for a girls weekend for a birthday ‘staycation’ with my mom who lives locally. For this trip we were trying to avoid the Clearwater Beach area but wanted to be near the water with ships and restaurants but more low key- so decided to try something new and we were pleasantly surprised. The Fenway was a great fit!
We were a little nervous reading the reviews for the Fenway - they seem so mixed -and after visiting, I can understand why. This property will be a hit or miss depending on what your expectation is and what the purpose of your trip is.
The good - a charming property with interesting history. Lots of nooks and crannies. Cool vibe. Dunedin is a beautiful little low key waterfront town filled character and with shops and restaurants that are actually quality and not overly touristy. Definitely a place you could stay for awhile. This hotel is right across the street from the water so is a great location to take a stroll along the water and just a short walk or ride into the town of Dunedin. The rooftop bar - WOW- gorgeous views of the water and the sunset. It is under construction right now, but as soon as that is done, it will be spectacular, but even now with the construction going on, it offers beautiful views. They bang the cymbals at sunset every evening. Just lovely. the architecture and history of the hotel is interesting and makes it feel cozy. The night we arrived there was a saxophone player playing live music in the lobby and a lively bar scene. I think popular with local residents and visitors alike. Out on the lawn there was a man who had various telescopes set up for “star bar” where you could look up at the stars in the moon. LOVED that. A very welcoming atmosphere. The room was small, but clean and updated and fit us perfectly. We had breakfast at the hotel twice and it was excellent, especially the beignets. The staff were very friendly, professional, helpful, and welcoming wherever we went on property.
The not so good: OK Fenway, you have the potential – such potential – for an overall excellent choice for the area. The only area that needs significant upgrades to be a true Florida destination is the pool area. And it wouldn’t be difficult. The towels were old the size of washcloths, the chairs, old, dirty, the pool is tiny, but you can’t help that with the footprint of the area (and I’ve seen many pool areas that are small that are also very beautiful and aesthetic). This one left a lot to be desired (and there was a children’s birthday party going on the far end of the pool while we were there. pretty much took over the pool). Here’s your assignment Fenway - you 100% need to upgrade this area – offer bar service. It’s only a few steps away inside and that would be easy. Buy new towels buy new chairs, cushions, umbrellas and add landscape/lights out there -literally do anything that will make it more aesthetic and match the rest of the hotel. Honestly, it could be done in a weekend. If you do that, this location will be a 10/10 complete package for a low-key relaxed getaway in a great location. I’d probably recommend this hotel mostly for couples, a need a girls, weekends, adult trips – or if you just homebase to explore the rest of the area. But the pool area holds me back from recommending it for a family or special occasion trip unless you’re just looking for a homebase. Again, I can’t stress enough the impact that a pool area upgrade would have on this lovely, historic property. Do NOT stay here if you a great poolside experience. This would not be the place for that at this point. (it almost seems a crime to have such a mismatch and lack of cared for pool on a property like this- such potential out there wow.)
So overall, we loved the property and we thought it was a hidden gem that had great potential to be our regular spot. Nice job to the staff!!! You don’t always find good service in the general Tampa Clearwater area, but I have to give the staff here praise for really surprising us with their top-notch service. We look forward to returning.
Beautiful hotel convenient to Downtown Dunedin. The staff was welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed the rooftop bar (even though it was under construction) and appreciated the friendly valet staff for their promptness. Great stay, we hope to visit again!
