The hotel I'd filthy, the kitchen is disgusting we could not cook in it.
Pros:

The only thing good about the hotel is the location

Cons:

The hotel is filthy we had to change rooms because of the putrid snell. We found rotting meat of some kind in the wardrobe.

Pick somewhere else. .
Cons:

Ladies bathroom didnt have a seat. Looks like seat was ripped off or something. The lid was sitting on the floor. The bathtub had a giant hole in the brick surrounding it. Surprised they can call themselves a hotel. Had to grab someone from the bar to check me in and wasnt the friendliest.

It's the cheapest for a reason!
Pros:

It was cheap and available when Whakatane was full.
Location great.
Served purpose of sleep.

Cons:

When I arrived... twin shared room. One bed made the other looked like it had been burgaled. Stripped but all bedding piled up. The rubbish bin in the corner was full to overflowing with previous guests rubbish.

The room didn't even have a power point!

The bathroom facilities are shared for the floor. One of the 2 toilets didn't flush. Neither of the 2 showers could get a balanced warm shower. There wasn't any soap to wash hands at the basins.

Because of the location l stayed there, l don’t think l will stay there again, the staff were excellent though.

Disappointing. We have stayed here before and for the price it was ok.
Cons:

When we checked the bed before retiring for the night we found bed bugs. We packed up immediately and before leaving and returning home we informed the manager. After confirming that we had paid through booking.com we were told we would receive a full refund.
Two days later we are currently awaiting payment.

We will stay again because it’s location and price.
Pros:

The room was clean and comfortable with a fan. And a great bench for bags and belongings.

Cons:

The kitchen was not clean the rubbish bag was overflowing. They did attend to it when we pointed it out and said the cleaner was away.
