Shangri-La Hotel, Harbin
We paid to upgrade to a suite and it was worth it. The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable, with a proper separate living area and good winter views.
Lounge access was a highlight. Overlooking Harbin Ice and Snow World, the evening views were excellent. A great place to sit and warm up after being outside.
Cherry, Kiki and Wendy looked after us very well throughout the stay. Service was attentive and friendly without being over the top.
Food in the lounge offered a strong selection, and the à la carte options were a welcome addition.
Overall, a very good stay and a solid choice when visiting Harbin in winter.

Friendly F and B chef and staff who were very approachable and willing to deliver their best service.
The room was comfortable and has a good selection of TV programs compared to other hotels. Bed was excellent sleep for our tiring trip. Worth the price.

Gym, pool and 28th floor restaurant for food and drinks were spectacular.
The WiFi was very hit or miss, kept logging us back out and then giving errors. I used mobile data for the whole stay. The biggest problem unfortunately was the staff. First of all I requested their concierge service to pick us up when we arrived at the train station but they were not there / arrived late (the hotel couldn’t explain which). After phoning the number given and waiting in -20C for almost half an hour we had to get a taxi. They apologised and arranged the concierge for our departure free of charge though the driver was outwardly miserable and unfriendly. The check in and check out is one of the only times we interacted with the staff and showed the worst of them regrettably. Upon check in I was informed that (despite booking in advance and having made the deposit). The total for our stay was ¥20,000 instead of ¥14,000. After a lot of arguing they eventually agreed to charge the originally booked price and but still wanted a deposit of a further 50% on a separate credit card. Then we checked out they gave me another new bill saying yet again it was more with no explanation as to why and when asked just said the bill is this. They still have a massive hold on my credit card.
