Everything! Service, comfort, views, friendliness, food all were great. There is a certain level of positive energy that surrounds the environment.
Definitely a great place to stay. We will extend our stay and return another time

We stayed only one day.
Firstly is a bit difficult to find so please contact hotel in advance to arrange you a taxi.
Hotel is amazing and very intimate , personal. However you still see and hear all the traffic of busy Rio - so it’s not a total escape.
We loved staff and hotel , but personal chef is not a good value or good food. As you away from everything else you are stuck with what hotel offers and we find it very expensive food for what we received , also chef was slightly invading on our privacy (although I guess he just friendly and didn’t have much else to do).
Breakfast was perhaps the poorest we had on all our trip to Rio - and they literally offer you just one cooked egg with some cold continental style (but limited) meats , fruits - not too impressed.
Overall I would recommend the hotel , but they need to sort out prices of catering or at least be worth it for what you pay.
And at least complimentary coffee would have been nice , considering you are excluded from any cafes around.

A hospedagem restou maculada pela absoluta falta de transparência com os pratos servidos no jantar e respectivos preços. O hotel e o chef não são claros ao expor os preços e aí tem tudo para dar errado. Pagamos por 2 caldos, 1 salada e 2 sucos a quantia de R$ 400,00, algo injusto e desonesto. Um dos caldo veio com cerca de quatro colheres de sopa.
Enfim, não reputamos correto o procedimento da hospedaria.

This place was fabulous, the staff was exceptionally helpful, and the place was clean, spacious, safe and beautiful views. I definitely recommend this place for anyone travelling to Brazil. Your chef prepares what ever you want to eat. This place was neatly tucked away up in the mountains in a secure gated community. Former home of Brazilian soccer super star Pelé. Place was tastefully decorated and beautifilly maintained.

Wonderful gem of a property, which felt like our own private villa. Christo the manager is welcoming and so helpful - and make sure to get a few of Jorge’s caipirinhas, they are the best and most authentic in all of Rio! Oh and the chef - creates a masterpiece at dinnertime, there’s no need to leave such tranquility when you have paradise all around you!

O lugar é incrível, o atendimento é perfeito e a vista é maravilhosa. Superou as expectativas.

A casa é linda, o visual incrível, staff antencioso e a comida deliciosa. Destaco como pontos a melhorar:
- Vistoria dos quartos antes da entrada dos hospedes, pq tinha taças quebradas, resto de cigarro e garrafa de vinho na varanda.
- O controle da net não funcionava de jeito nenhym

Foi a primeira vez que estive em uma casa que foi transformada em hotel. Foi tudo maravilhoso. Minha noiva é MUITO chata e ADOROU tudo. A paisagem é magnífica, o serviço soberbo, vc decide com a chef o que e onde vai comer. A 5 minutas a pé da praia da Joatinga. Tudo sensacional. Atendimento personalizado!!! Incrível. Retornaremos em breve.

Tudo muito lindo e perfeito.... porem a cozinha deixou a desejar.. o lugar e incrivel vale muito a pena cada segundo naquele lugar

Eu e minha esposa gostamos MUITO de nossa estadia! Apesar de morarmos no Rio, a oportunidade de ficar em uma casa maravilhosa com uma vista deslumbrante para qualquer lado que se olhe compensa muito! Alem disso, nao tenho como deixar de destacar o cuidado e carinho que toda equipe do hotel demonstraram desde o primeiro contato... Radi, Chef Raquel Mascarenhas e Marcelo fazem de tudo para nos sentirmos especiais! Por falar em Raquel, nao deixem de experimentar um menu completo preparado por ela na hora... Fantastico! Antes da reserva Ate me preocupei com um unico comentario negativo sobre as instalacoes: posso dizer que existe sim ate um reparo ou outro muito pequeno que necessita ser feito... mas asseguro que isso nao representa absolutamente nada que se compare com a maravilhosa experiencia proporcionada a um preco muito justo, diga-se de passagem!

Amazing and priceless ! We experienced living like Rio's elite, living in a private Mansion with staff dedicated just to us. We became friends with the owner, the chef and the GM.

Unbelievable beautiful surroundings with Natural Beauty surrounding the Hotel in 360º. The General Manager was tireless and showed extreme personal treatment which made us feel like VIP Guests and was always available to guarantee any personal needs or demands. Everyone who worked there were extremely courteous and friendly. Recommended for anyone who wants to spend a romantic weekend or small holidays like we did.

Words can't describe how happy I am with choosing Le Chateaux Joa for my first trip to Rio De Janeiro. This was my first time in Brazil. I was initially very nervous being that I didn't speak Portugues and many people had warned me about crime in the country. With all of that said I felt 100% safe at this exclusive private property. I felt like I was in paradise. The hotel had a rustic design with a modern touch. The hotel property sits at the top of a hill where you can see two different sides of the city. The hotel is situated in close walking distance to the very nice Joatinga beach. Because there is Uber, I was able to get to and from the hotel very quickly to all the popular tourist sites and places to eat for just a few dollars. The hotel staff was very nice and accommodated all of my requests. They even updgraded me to the presidential suite upon arrival. While only one person spoke English, they were very patient with me and friendly. If you are looking for a getaway vacation off the beaten path of Rio, I recommend that you stay here.
