Everything was perfect. Staff were great, the hotel was clean, friendly and new and the food was delicious.
Rooms, staff, care to our dogs.
Food closes a little early (I think last orders were 7.45 ) but they were clear about this so we were able to plan in advance.
Very smart and lovely atmosphere
Nothing, was really good
We stayed here for two nights for my sister's graduation, I really cannot praise this hotel enough.
On arrival you notice how attractive the place is, there is loads of parking, and the surrounding countryside is quiet even though the road is nearby.
Entering the building is equally impressive, the staff are incredibly warm and welcoming, nothing seemed to be too much trouble.
I was expecting a pub/B&B but this feels more like a luxury hotel with beautiful lounges, comfortable chairs and books to lose yourself in.
The rooms were wonderful, generously sized and finished to a high quality standard. The only small problem was that two of the rooms had a drainy smell which we considered a countryside smell which couldn’t be helped given the location. This did not take away from the beauty of the rooms though, bathroom was very luxurious and spotlessly clean. I always take slippers when staying in a hotel as I usually find that the floors feel dirty or sticky but this was not a problem at the Fleece. I walked around barefoot in the room and the carpet felt soft and clean underfoot.
We dined in the restaurant both nights and the food was delicious. The night of her graduation they even brought my sister a sweet plate with congratulations written on it. The lovely waitress at breakfast even remembered the next day and asked her how it went which was very thoughtful.
I could rave on about this place forever but couldn’t do it justice. I’d happily recommend this hotel to anyone.
Great room, great food and great people.
first time here was very pleased with the whole thing will be back again in the future spot on on
This hotel is of a top standard that many hotels could learn from. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will return. This hotel is the perfect half way stop between Aberdeen and the Midlands. Room was excellent. Service faultless. Restaurant and food top quality. Limited food choice but all top quality selection for all tastes. We loved this hotel. Congratulation to the management and staff for a lovely stay.
We had had two very nice nights’ stay at the Fleece as part of a tour of Hadrian’s wall.
The pub/hotel has been refurbished to a high standard with quality materials, joinery and fittings.
We stayed in a superior room that was very well maintained and much larger than we expected.
We ate breakfast both mornings. There was a buffet (cereals, juice, toast, pastries, yoghurt, etc.) and a good range of dishes cooked to order.
Dinner was also excellent with a good choice, high quality food and very good service.
The staff on the first day were extremely good - professional, experienced and attentive. The second day there were different staff who were less professional and less experienced, but it didn’t spoil the stay.
Overall we enjoyed our stay very much and would highly recommend it.
It’s a lovely place to stay very clean and excellent study area
It’s closed
We have stayed before and loved it! We were a little disappointed this time with a couple of things, but nothing major
Beautiful place. Bedroom was very modern and plush, great walk in shower and bath tub. Extremely comfy bed. Very quiet room, good soundproofing. Breakfast and dinner both excellent.
Great hotel for a quiet break
We stopped overnight at the Fleece returning home to London from Scotland. It was delightful stay. A very comfortable room and great bathroom. Attentive service and a good dinner. Breakfast was not quite so good, but adequate for what we wanted before we got back on the road.
Fantastic location, beautiful building with amazing decor.
Staff friendly and helpful.
The room was very homely comfortable and relaxing best nights sleep we have had away from home in a long time
