The Abernathy of Clemson

Our host was exceptionally hospitable, kind, welcoming, and was so kind towards our dogs. They made them special cookies and gave them cute scarfs to wear. 10 out of 10 stay and will be coming back next year for the holidays.

We spent an evening at the Abernathy this past weekend while visiting Clemson with our daughter and it was the perfect place to stay! The location is ideal (literally across the street from the Clemson campus), free parking on site, great room set-up (giving our daughter a sense of privacy without having to pay for two rooms), and the staff were exceptional! Such a lovely hotel with incredibly warm and friendly staff who gave us food recommendations (take out from Esso hit the spot!). HIGHLY recommend. If our daughter chooses Clemson, we will definitely stay at the Abernathy!

We wee a late arrival after driving from NJ. I was greeted by Melinda who was gracious and helpful at check in. We decided to extend our stay the next morning. Rose and Alli made it possible to keep our gorgeous room for an additional night. The Abernathy is filled with Clemson spirit and beautiful accommodations. Short walk to town. Great hotel bar and dining area when you want to stay close to room. Plenty of free parking!

We held our annual corporate Leadership Planning meeting at the Abernathy. Abi and team did a great job catering to our needs while providing a great setting and atmosphere for us to get our work done. Rooms were perfect and service was outstanding. Excellent location.

We love staying at the Abernathy ……we are treated like family and provided the absolute most hospitable service by Abi. What’s amazing is the energy and vibe she creates when she is present. She treats the hotel like her home and welcomes every guest with open arms! Truly the definition of “southern hospitality”

Stop by on my way through, I was severely lost and I spoke with Abi. She was extraordinarily pleasant. Extremely helpful and beyond kind. I wouldn't have wanted to deal with anybody else and she has definitely helped me out of a tight situation. I wish I knew that I could get this kind of customer service before I booked. We come here often and I definitely expect to be booking here from here on out!

We checked in late last week and were planning to go straight to the room, to bed. We were given complimentary drink tickets to TAPS and Zeke was fabulous!! We spent over 2 hours at TAPS and had a fantastic evening (luggage still by our side)! Zeke is an incredible asset to the Abernathy - he turned an ordinary night into something special.

The Abernathy Hotel in Clemson is one of my absolute favorite places to stay in the area! Its location right next to campus makes it incredibly convenient — just a short walk to the football stadium.

The staff here are so personable and accommodating especially the front office manager, Abi. She went above and beyond to help us organize our tailgate weekend. We woke up to find everything set up perfectly by our car — she truly made the whole experience seamless and fun.

The rooms are spotless and very comfortable, and I love the thoughtful touches throughout the hotel. They had snacks out at the front desk, and during our tailgate weekend, they even provided football-themed cookies and cake pops in our room — such a nice surprise!

I can’t recommend the Abernathy Hotel enough. Whether you’re in town for a game or just visiting Clemson, this place makes the stay extra special.

Abby truly sets the tone for the whole hotel. She’s not just professional, but also incredibly personable and attentive. She checked in on us throughout our stay, ensuring that everything was perfect and even offering some fantastic local recommendations. You can tell she cares deeply about both the guests and the success of the hotel. Her attention to detail and genuine hospitality were a big part of what made our visit so special.

Parking was good and it was really nice I just wish I was on the top floor so I could have seen Clemson University better but everything was nice . The room was great .

We stayed at the Abernathy for a Clemson game weekend, and as someone who has been coming here regularly since it first opened in 2017, I can honestly say the experience never disappoints. In fact, the service and atmosphere seem to get better with each visit. The staff consistently go above and beyond to make guests feel welcome, and the hotel itself is always spotless. Our room was not only perfectly clean but also felt fresh, comfortable, and ready for us to settle in. It’s clear that attention to detail and genuine hospitality are a top priority at the Abernathy, which is why it continues to be our go-to place to stay when visiting Clemson.

Cheryl and Sophia gave us such a warm welcome when we arrived at the Abernathy, and Cheryl was incredibly helpful in guiding me through the challenges of gameday parking with all the activity and excitement around the hotel. Sophia was so pleasant assisting us with everything. She brings such a positive energy and approaches every interaction with genuine positivity.

Abi is truly one of the kindest and most accommodating people I’ve ever met. She treats us like family, making my wife, our three children, and me feel right at home every time we visit. In today’s world, where genuine hospitality can be rare, Abi stands out as an exceptional example of kindness and outstanding service.

I stopped in late one evening to grab a few soft drinks to take back to my room. Zeke went above and beyond—he not only got the drinks for me but also went behind the front desk to find a bag so I could easily carry them upstairs. He truly has a gift for making every guest feel valued and appreciated. We always look forward to seeing him when we visit TAPS, knowing we’ll receive excellent service along with great conversation. Zeke is an outstanding host whose genuine care and dedication elevate the entire experience at the Abernathy—this hotel simply wouldn’t be the same without him.

We’ve stayed at The Abernathy a few times now and each time we like it even more ! Rooms are large , extremely clean and nice and quiet . A restful nights sleep is always in store .
The entire staff is professional and courteous but we have to give a special shout out to Abby the front desk manager who helped us to navigate a difficult situation with move in for our student at their off campus housing .
Her response time with emails is fantastic as well as her willingness to go above and beyond .
