One of the old building in Yogyakarta but still look gorgeous and have a best service!
Also for the location so near with Malioboro, Tugu, and others famous places in Yogya.
Empty dining room. We order two mie goreng at 17:20, wait 50 mins and we only get two drinks. It’s such a shame that nobody explains what the heck is going on, and makes the customers like fools. By the way, we just get the grill sate near the hotel in 10mins, what a joke!
My wife and I are from New Zealand, and were staying in Yogyakarta for a few days to visit the local sites. We chose D'Senopati Grand Hotel, as it is only a block from the Palace end of Jl. Malioboro, and has a swimming pool. The room was large and clean, with hot water, and a fridge, but no room safe. The pool was a bonus on hot days. Breakfast was complimentary, but almost exclusively Indonesian food, with very little to appeal to most western palates. Staff at the hotel were friendly, and it was incredibly easy (and extremely cheap) to get a Grab taxi from the hotel.
Before travelling to Yogya, we did a reasonable amount of research online, and decided that the two best inner city locations were around the main shopping street in the Malioboro district, or in the more laid back Prawirotaman, a couple of kilometres south of Malioboro. Many of the recommendations we read suggested that the best option was to stay around Jl. Malioboro where things were more central and busier. In hindsight, as Western tourists, although our stay at D'Senopati Grand Hotel was OK, if I was to return to Yogya, I would choose to stay at Prawirotaman, rather than Malioboro.
Jl. Malioboro has many shops (and a multi-story mall) and is close to a number of local attractions such as the Palace of Yogyakarta and Fort Vredeburg. It is also an extremely popular pedestrian street for Indonesians in the evening.
But Jl. Prawirotaman is much more attractive to foreign/western travellers, and backpackers, with a number of great international restaurants, cafes, bars and small boutique shops, and has a much more laid back "traveller" vibe. Just my opinion.
Pictures makes you believe much nicer than it is. When we checked in, asked for 2 keys and told could only have 1. Dirty dishes (not ours) outside of door for 2 days. We called to complain before they picked up. Bathroom smelled and shower drain was slow, so bathroom flooded if didn't take quick shower. Breakfast was good, but it started at 6am and when we arrived at 7, lots of empty pans. The staff tried to put out other food, but was apparent they were not prepared for the hotel to be full. Also, was looking to change hotel and ran across same hotel with lower room rates then we paid. We had lots to do in Yogokarta, so only slept in room a few hours each night. Would not stay there again. Very poor choice for us and not what I expected from Expedia.
王宮には近い。かと言ってレストラン等、行くことができる施設が多いわけではない。ここに限ったわけではないが、道路工事が特に多くて歩きづらかった。
We booked this hotel for 2 nights to extend our holiday in jogja. Arrived at the hotel at night and went straight to the room after checking in. The first unpleasant thing was that the exhaust in the bathroom sounded loudly when turned on. But this can be fixed by the hotel's technician. The second thing is that the water in the bathroom stagnates for a long time after being used for bathing. Then added with toilet water that cannot be filled automatically. So it cannot flush the toilet.
Finally we decided to move hotel immediately. One more thing, the hotel's staff did not say sorry when we returned the room key.
Great location!
Just 10 mins walk to Gudeg Restos...
15 mind walk to Malioboro, Kraton, Pasar Bringharjo.
The Breakfast was being modest.
The Room was decent, even they still put a broken TV Remote in the room and they forgot to lock the Conjoined Door Room.
It's a very busy Hotel, so you better ask the Security first for Parking Spot.
Soooo happy staycation at d'senopati malioboro hotel, my kidsss lovee swimming pool so much 🥰
Can't wait visit again 🥰
Guest experience nyaaa onty @kiky soo humble and niceee banget 😍
Great job d'senopati malioboro hotel..
I think the first things that make this hotel recomended is the location, this hotel near from malioboro and the center city in Yogyakarta you can only walk to reach the malioboro. about the facility its good there are a swimming pool outdoor and clean. And then about room the minus is about the AirConditioner is not quiet so the sound is noise and overall its recomended.
Wow! That was amazing to stay at city centre of jogjakarta. Easy to catch streetfood near hotel, also the service from staff was great.
Can't wait to see you again, Jogja! Thankyou D'Senopati Hotel for the experience...
Great location and nice bed. I choose room twin bed with pool view.
Some reviews on the hotel:
- Good walk-in shower
- the room so clean
- Nice and comfortable beds
- Very near to Taman Pintar, Malioboro and Alun-Alun Utara
- The breakfast is good.
- The staff are friendly and helpfull.
I was stay in that hotel for 2 nights (twin bed), and for 2nights i got good service from employees hotel and they’re so friendly and helpfully , the room so clean, and this hotel so close from malioboro, just by walking. it’s great to stay in this hotel for short or longtime. Thankyou d’senopati hotel
I was stay here for short holiday on the weekend. The room is awesome and very clean. The staffs were outstanding and very helpful. Shoutout for mr. Sugiyanto the housekeeping and miss Nining from the breakfast spot, she always welcome us with her best smile from ear to ear. Great service for D'Senopati, cant wait to stay again with you guys soon. Double thumbs up!!
We enjoyed our stay here. The room was very spacious and the bed was super comfortable. Breakfast was also very good. The hotel is within walking distance of Malioboro Road and the Yogyakarta Palace which was nice.
The hotel is located in the main street of Senopati in Jogja and not far from the shopping street, the Malioboro Street. From the outside the hotel looks " Grand". The staffs are very friendly and helpful and have pleasant smile all the time. When I booked the rooms through Booking.Com I requested that our 3 rooms be on the same floor and close by each other and they did met my request. But as like most reviews, 2 of our bathrooms are flooded each time we shower. They provided us with extra floor towels and we had hard time trying to soak up the water and squeezing the towels dry. The next day we requested for a change of rooms and they gave us rooms with better drainage bathrooms. And at last for the next two days we had dried bathrooms, no need to used floor towels. The sheets in my room are ok but the towels are greyish in color and some of the edges are worn out probably high time to change them. They look more appropriate as floor towels. The bath and the toilet are separate and that is what I like about this hotel. The rooms are huge and spacious and the necessity amenities are provided. The breakfast spread are plentiful with lots of varieties to choose from. The sitting area for breakfast is a bit cramped when packed but you can sit outdoor at the pool area if you dont mind the smoking.. We had a good stay in this hotel and would probably stay here again.
Con: The management of the hotel should seriously look into the problems of the flooded bathrooms and the old greyish towels amidst the numerous reviews in TripAdvisor and other channels. The management may however close off the respective rooms until rectification are completed.
Recomended hotel near Malioboro Street, Bank, Vihara and the Lie Djiong ( a chinesse food legend @ Jogja )....we can go there by walk....Hotel Staff are friendly.....
Reservation made by Traveloka for large double bed for 2 person.. Arrive late check in 8.30pm and TIRED, but get a room single bed. Ask reception and they ask for money to upgrade the bed. Hope u guys will have no experience like me.
Spend a night at this hotel, just because the next day our flight is in the morning. They are very friendly and their service is good. They even dropped our luggage at our room cause we were before check-in time. The room self is spacious, big comfy bed and you got a view to the pool and chillplace. The airco was at full blast. Did try to change the speed but it's just high n low. Stucks at high for my part.
The bathroom in the other end, needs some decent cleaning. Both showerheads full with chalk. The chalk was even a bit red. A bit rust here and there. The sink needs a rekit. Amateur work sadly. Last and but least our friendly cockroaches. 3 were swirling around the sink and walls when I brushed my teeth....
Breakfast, simple, not many choices. For a short stay its fine but yeah ...
Hotel is located conveniently not far from anything you need - Malioboro street, Keraton, Water Palace, shopping malls... Staff is nice and very helpful. Room was comfortable, clean and spacious. While the location is convenient, it is a bit difficult to walk to the hotel itself. Being at a busy broad street, it was actually better to take a taxi / riksha just for the few hundred meters, to get to the hotel. The swimming pool is nice but a bit cold, probably because of nearby high walls.
Dirty. Location is not walker friendly, very busy road. Staff were friendly but it seemed that management had them doing too much. Not enough staff on duty, room wasn’t clean, breakfast food and seating areas were gone when buses arrived. Rooms were not stocked as normally (no hair dyer, makeup mirror, poor lighting, no shampoo and conditioner, etc). Air conditioner would not shut off at designated temp so room was freezing in the morning. Restaurant often didn’t have the food listed in the menu. Walls were thin and big groups weren’t controlled well-keeping us up at night and waking us up early in the morning, we would have left but after 17 days of traveling, we had 4 days left and didn’t want to deal with the fuss.
