Great place to spend a night outside of Macas ...
Pros:

Hotel Farallon is ~10km outside of Macas on a ridge overlooking the river with the Andes behind. Beautiful. And there is a terrific outdoor pool with views and to relax in after a long day of driving. The lobby is area is large and a great place to sit and relax, and the dining room serves breakfast and also dinner. We decided to have dinner in the hotel vs. head into Macas -- very relaxed, great food. Easy. The staff is helpful and friendly. Only complaint, a minor one, is the room was a bit older and dated.
