20th Wedding Anniversary to remember.
Pros:

We were celebrating our 20th Wedding Anniversary, and stayed for 2 nights, and what a lovely 2 nights it was too.
Staff from checking in were approachable, friendly and attentive. Food was just so tasty and very hot.
The room we stayed in was number 11, and a really nice room, which also had a fan which we had on our bed side table, hope this stays i the room as it made our sleep more comfy, had a really good size bed, walk in shower.
We also had breakfast which was very nice too.
We highly recommend this hotel and restaurant to anyone.

Cons:

Couldn't find any faults, if i had to say something, it would be that we were gutted the outdoor bar and Pizza area wasnt open. But we still sat outside with a drink.

Fell short of a Royal four star rating and we expected more.
Pros:

Traditional building set in a quiet location.

Cons:

Ground floor room window was obstructed by the bins.
No obvious check in location, had to be found by guesswork.
Ran out of food to order a decent evening meal.

A fairy tale inn in a fairy tale village! We loved everything about it. The beer garden behind was fabulous and the walk along the shore past whimsical properties was inspiring.

Pros:

Great location, lovely decor and thoughtful touches like the sleep packs in the room.
Breakfast was great and accommodating of fussy eater

Late check in process could have been clearer before arriving at property. However once we phoned and were talked through what to do it was brilliant

Very disappointed and a waste of money as usually we have enjoyed our stay.
Pros:

It a great place in the village and nicely done out. Great outside area.
Food was good.

Cons:

We didn’t get the room we booked!
Booked a twin room! Ended up with a sofa bed in a double room as extra bed which was extremely hard also could feel all of the frame work through the mattress so got very little sleep. Very disappointed.
Some of the staff very disappointing and certainly need training as either avoided servicing us when we arrived!
And one was obviously very new as when asked anything replied it’s not my job or I’ve not been trained to do that! That was actually when my husband told her the phone had been ringing for ages. Then a member of staff came out of the kitchen and picked the phone up out of the holder and put it back down again.
We have stayed over the years a number of times but this time was very disappointing apart from the food.

Great Hotel, Great Staff - but room for improvement on the food front
Pros:

Room really comfortable and good "extras" - Lavazza coffee machine great, good selection of teas, horlicks, biscuits, etc.
Also great selection of beers in the bar and cannot fault the staff for their friendliness and efficiency.

Cons:

Dinner OK but hiding 8 chips under the fish not great. Breakfast OK but toast under scrambled egg completely soggy and inedible and "locally sourced black pudding" looked and tasted like every other mass produced black pudding that I would get anywhere else in the country.
