Wonderful weekend away
Pros:

An upscale five star boutique Hotel with a wonderful service. In-house additional amenities.

Cons:

There is really only one option for parking which is valet. Definitely go that route to make your life easier.

Happenstance find of a true gem
Pros:

A random selection from the American Express Fine Hotels collection. Was going to a bowl game and picked property closest to the stadium. Round up being one of the best Fine Hotels we ever stayed in. Large suite. Clean, quiet renovated old department store. Everything was first class. If you need a place in downtown Charlotte walking distance from theatre, sporting venues, etc. I would highly recommend The Ivey.

Excellent, I will definitely return .
Pros:

It was cozy and comfortable.

Cons:

It was cold in the bathroom, and the room…
But they fixed that by giving us a space heater…. Problem solved. They may want to put a rug in front of the toilet for some warmth, it is very cold on the floors.

Never again
Pros:

DONT BOTHER! Very noisy, only one floor above a club and on a busy street. The only higher floors are privately owned, so there’s no escaping the noise. Despite asking for the quietest room, I was placed next to a stairwell that was especially busy due to the broken elevator, and a stairwell window kept the room from ever being dark. I asked for a fan, they have none. They have white noise machines but all were taken up by other people. Big surprise! I also called ahead and couldn’t get anyone on the phone for two hours before arrival. They seem understaffed.Overpriced for what’s offered—don’t waste your money.

Best Hotel Experience
Pros:

We are not wealthy, but we have had some amazing experiences throughout the years and The Ivey’s is at the top of our list of hotel stays. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back for a weekend getaway once again. The front lobby staff were friendly and welcoming and the process was very easy. We loved our stay despite not taking advantage of the restaurant or lounge on this visit. We did order in room service and it was very well done. The room was very clean and the interior design of a French theme was great without being too much. Kudos to housekeeping for making us feel so welcome, despite never seeing a member of housekeeping. The attention to detail made our little getaway something to remember and gave us a break from our everyday lives. Thanks so much.

A fun and unique hotel experience.
Pros:

My husband and I stayed at The Ivey's Hotel last week (12/17-12/19, 2025). We loved the place! The decor was so unique and beautiful. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The food from the Sophia Lounge was excellent. The entire staff was more than gracious, friendly and helpful. It's in a great location in uptown Charlotte. I used to shop at Ivey's Department Store so loved the decorative touches relating to the store. I would stay there again for sure!

Quick getaway but super pricy.
Pros:

Overall a pretty great stay. The room overlooked the inside area and the inside stairs, nothing much to see. While we were at the hotel the elevator was out of order. Not too big of a deal since we were just staying one night. The room was beautiful, we were welcomed with a cold bottle of champagne and glasses on the table in the room [which we were then charged $36 for] . I feel that is a shady tactic to sell the overcharged champagne. It seemed like a welcome gift since it was in our room on ice waiting for us!

Bed was very hard but the pillows were fantastic! The walls appear fairly thin since all night we could hear people on the stairs or beneath us.

Valley parking was $55 for the night and the car was returned to us with bird poop all over it.

The staff were nice to us.

Reality lived up to the pictures! Very friendly staff.

Cons:

TV entertainment is dated. Access to smart TV’s would allow access to updated movies.

Parisian Paradise in the Queen City
Pros:

The Ivey's Hotel in Charlotte excels beyond the standard hotel experience. From the chic Parisian interior decor to the first class service that you will receive from the hotel valet service (Thank you, Marcus & Gavin!) to the front-of-house staff and housekeeping, you will be immersed in a truly relaxing environment. Enjoy guest services with a touch of the in room tablet along with all of the other quirky and quaint amenities, like the library room and Sophia's Lounge and a Parisian style veranda with bistro tables overlooking a massive atrium. This hotel is in a class of its own. Prepare to be pampered!
