My room was very clean and well designed. View of the beach was amazing. Breakfast was delicious. Bar service and cocktails were awesome, special thanks to Diana, Alma, Claudia, Sandra and the leader of the team Jessica.

Wonderful location, great view! Adorable boutique hotel. We were so close to everything. It’s a great midway point to the casino and Descanso Beach Club and downtown. We would definitely stay there again.

Truly an incredibly nice property, loved the location, enjoyed the rooftop patio. They actually recommended Antonio's, just around the corner, as we had one older teen who lives for pizza, which we took up on the patio and enjoyed peaceful spaciousness and tranquility while people watching the endless flow of activity 4 floors below us and all the boats out in the harbor. Easy base for all our activities over the weekend.

Close to beach

Nice hotel, but a little pricey for the room and location, but it's Catalina, so there not that much that can be done. Location was walking distance to all of Catalina's points of interest. Would definitely stay here again.

The room was small and not very clean, and the carpet was dirty. The hotel’s location was good, but I was charged an extra $200 for a stain on the linen. When I contacted customer service to ask if the charge could be reduced or removed, they were rude and said they did not care about reviews. Had terrible experience at this hotel. Will never stay here again.

Staff was negligent. Room was decent. Bikes were great to get around the island! There is an early check in option with a fee. They call back if anything opens up but staff is selective.

Great location and I prefer hotels that are not chains and have a fun vibe - Ballanca was exactly that !

Of note - If you prefer natural light and some level of privacy I would strongly recommend asking for a room on 3rd or 4th floor
My only suggestion to hotel is to have some lighting option by bed
Only lights are the bathroom and light over the table and it’s bright and inconvenient if you are in bed.
Also since the only ventilation is the little window above the sliding door might be nice to have a small fan

What an utter disappointment! We arrived before dark on the afternoon boat for our anniversary weekend, and expected an ocean view at an ocean front property. At $500 per night, with an additional $60 taxes, our room had NO view, it was hot and stuffy (like they weren't even expecting us to check in), walls were covered in stains, bathroom was missing grout with rust and MOLD in the showers, sink leg bent looking like it was about to break, door bathroom door creaking, and hearing the neighbors at 10pm and 6am walking by talking loud and keeping us from sleeping. They offered no breakfast credit, unlike the email I received before arrival, and overall, it was just the most unpleasant experience! At that rate, I could have stayed at a Four Seasons or the Ritz Carlton with better amenities and hospitality service. No one even asked me how our stay was on checkout, like they could care less since they already collected credit card info. Be aware of the price gouging on their own website, since external websites all show Bellanca rooms at $200 less per night which is still overpriced for the motel-like quality we came to discover... I would never recommend this and hope travelers beware!
