Alyx made my experience better than I could have ever expected!! LOVED HER🥰
This is one of my favorite hotels. The staff is efficient and friendly, rooms are ample and well appointed. Amenities including pool is off the charts.
The basics of hospitality are attentiveness, positive (or at least neutral energy) guest experience, anticipating needs. None of these were met at even a low level. It felt like the woman running the establishment was pissed off that guests were staying at her hotel. She wasn’t pleasant to speak with, gave off an unnecessary attitude with just ebony every question asked (which included a tooth suck eye role and heavy exhale). There was also no ownership if something felt off. I witnessed her speak to myself and other guests as if we did something wrong. The reality is, if your guest has an issue your job is to listen, understand and respond in a way that makes them feel supported, whether you agree with it or not. Low water isn’t something to fuss about, your wait staff not being attentive and surveying the pool is not a guests fault. You not having a clear instruction on your EV policy is not a guests fault and if both spots are taken by non EV vehicles, it probably makes sense to sort that for the guests who ARE driving EV. They were just honestly lazy. Please at least greet people with a smile, get rid of the attitude, anticipate stuff a little better and take care of your bikes.
My trip at HH was great. I really enjoy my room . The location of the property puts you close to everything downtown. The staff was great. Very helpful. Very kind. The breakfast was great. Really my only con would be the bed and pillows were too soft but that is subjective. This is a great place to stay. I’ll be back.
Girls trip with high school friend. Amazing location. Not greeted in a warm and welcome fashion. Food was good. Again, service was more like an irritation to staff. Same staff serving food and front desk.
Every year my wife and I return and wonder if the service and beauty of this hotel will drop off. Never does. Only gets better and better. Quiet. Great food. Wonderful rooms and service.
I’m writing this review as I think it’s very important people have a full understanding of what to expect. I tried to submit a trip advisor review through the hotels feedback platform but I suspect since it was not a positive review, they have chosen not to post it. I went for a birthday trip hoping to relax and feel restored and the hotel just did not meet expectations especially at 400+ per night. We booked a best room and there were a few issues. Our patio furniture was broken and the cushions were old and uncomfortable and our water never got hot in the shower. The pool area is nice but all 3 days we were there the chairs had pistachio shells underneath, indicating that they do not sweep it regularly. They could not keep towels stocked at the pool despite us regularly asking for them. The cushions on the loungers felt old and dirty. The pool constantly had bugs in it and there were cockroaches poolside and in the pool on our last day. The staff is nice but does not engage with guests. They do not come around to take food/drink orders and the one time they walked around with fruit they completely ignored us. The lunch offerings were good but the breakfast was not good at all. The bagels were grocery store quality at best and the offerings just weren’t appetizing which was annoying because they insisted we pay a resort fee to include breakfast. We ended up eating out for breakfast 2/3 days we were there. Overall we were expecting a lot more based on previous reviews and we were left disappointed.
We chose this highly rated hotel expecting it to be the highlight of our three-night stay -- and it wasn’t. Check-in was warm, and we appreciated getting into our room about 90 minutes early. The property itself is well kept and has the boutique Palm Springs vibe you’d expect. Our room was clean and housekeeping was excellent. Unfortunately, a few key issues brought down the experience. One morning at breakfast, the bagels were covered in mold -- we realized it halfway through eating them. We flagged it to staff and received only a quick “sorry,” with no follow-up. At the pool, towels weren’t consistently restocked, and we had to ask staff to bring more out multiple times. The pool itself wasn’t well maintained -- one morning it was covered in bugs and debris, and we ended up trying to clean it ourselves just to use it. We also had a strange issue with room keys—only one was available, and we were told to come back the next day for a second. At a property charging a $40/day resort fee, these issues are unacceptable and hard to overlook.
This is mine and my wife's favorite Palm Springs spot - we've done two special occasion trips here and they never disappoint! The rooms are so fun, have plenty of space, and the clientele is upscale and not pretentious. And you CANNOT beat the location! We'll be back!
We had a mixed experience at Holiday House. The property itself is beautiful, and we really enjoyed the location, amenities, and overall atmosphere. All other staff we interacted with were warm and pleasant.
Unfortunately, our arrival experience was very disappointing. After a full day of travel, I arrived around noon simply to confirm check-in, as the reservation was under my husband’s name and he was not scheduled to arrive until midnight. When I explained the situation, I was told by the General Manager, Rosemary, that she “legally” could not check me in. While I understood the policy, the interaction was dismissive and unhelpful. There was no effort to problem-solve or offer guidance, and I was left unsure how I would access the room that evening.
The situation was eventually resolved by contacting Expedia to add my name to the reservation. When I returned later, I was able to check in smoothly, which highlighted that the situation could have been handled very differently from the start.
While we did enjoy the property overall, this experience created unnecessary stress and made us genuinely unsure about returning.
The service was exceptional - genuinely kind, attentive, and welcoming from start to finish. You can really feel the care the team puts into creating a great experience. The design is impeccable, with beautiful blue accents that add a fresh, approachable touch to a modern aesthetic. Everything felt thoughtfully curated, making it both stylish and comfortable. A truly standout experience all around.
This is a very cute boutique hotel near all the city center action in Palm Springs. I was here for a conference and the conference center is less than a half mile walk from the Holiday House. The staff and amenities are great. I would highly recommend for you next trip to PS.
A long on-line search for a Palm Springs hotel accessible without bringing a car, with safety features like grab bars in the shower on request, and clean and spacious rooms was rewarded by finding Holiday House. From a welcoming, personally-sized lobby to the artistic
blue-and-white decor in our comfortable room, it exceeded our expectations. Finally, it would be hard to beat the walkable location with the town center on one side and mountains on the other. An excellent four-day getaway near Joshua Tree National Park!
We can to the holiday house on a whim. Was not expecting the level of care they provided. Everyone and I mean everyone were so nice and accommodating. Because of this we stayed an extra night and surprise to us upgraded our room.
Holiday House is so special! It is right in the heart of everything and convenient walking to all the downtown spots. Trendy, beautiful, clean, and relaxing. We lounged and enjoyed drinks by the pool, took the bikes out, played shuffleboard, and had breakfast on the patio. The room was clean and beautiful. Even the upgraded room was half the price as the Kimpton on the next block. I would definitely stay here again!
The only criticism is the lighting in the bathroom was poor and not addressed after we raised the issue. Staff were friendly. Good was good. Location was great. Parking was easy. Hotel was quite clean and serene. Special thanks to Andi and the service staff at the front desk and bar.
Here’s the thing the reception check in was very nice but this property will nickel and dime you. Upon check in around 1230 we were informed that our room was ready but we would need to pay 75 dollars to access it. Mind you we came around 1030 am to get breakfast and put our bags down and this was never mentioned. The poolside service is non existent. No menus and someone cam around maybe twice during the 4 hours we were seated. Also there’s no food service between 4 and 5 pm so we brought a snack and was told no outside food allowed. Then upon checkout we had extra charges to the room that we had to sort out. Bottomline there are better places in Palm Springs and if you’re looking for poolside service do not stay here.
When looking online at the many hotels in Palm Springs, the photo of the charming blue and white chairs in the palm-accented breakfast area of the Holiday House hotel caught our eye. After reviewing the website and seeing that the hotel was downtown, we thought it looked like the perfect boutique hotel option. When we arrived, the Holiday House turned out to be even better than we imagined. The bright, bold blue and white-themed decor looks like it's straight out of a David Hockney painting--and every detail of the design has been carefully thought out. Our "Best"-level room was worth paying extra for and was roomy and comfortable. The breakfast area is cozy and the pool is lovely and relaxing.
And even though you are only a block from downtown Palm Springs, you feel like you are in a private resort hideaway. The hotel draws a casually chic and quiet over-21 crowd, adding to the tranquil, design-forward ambiance.
Perfect location and Palm Springs experience with Holiday House as home base. Spacious rooms and great ambiance around the property - whether hanging out at a cabana, in the lounge, or poolside. Fun vibe.
I can't say enough about the staff - very welcoming and wanting to make sure you have a wonderful experience. Breakfast was great...loved that you could make up your tray and take it anywhere on property to enjoy, Many special touches.
Walking distance to great restaurants, the PS Art Museum, galleries, and other shopping. Would definitely stay here again!
This small boutique style hotel offers a unique vibe and excellent service. The location cannot be beat!
