Holiday house is such a charming property, one that checked all the boxes for our first stay in Palm Springs! Great location within walking distance of everything in downtown PS, as well as hiking trails! Wonderful staff, fun and stylish decor, great breakfast, fun restaurant, super cute and spacious rooms, relaxing pool and hot tub, and free parking!!! If I forgot anything, believe me Rosemary and her staff had it covered. We will definitely be back as soon as we can, and next time for a longer stay!
Holiday House Palm Springs Review!
Stunningly beautiful grounds with rooms that enraptured our senses and bodies into beauty and comfort fit for royalty. The staff, in particular, is benevolent, and Andi is not only gracious but also kind and dedicated. She is the epitome of customer satisfaction with a smile. The breakfast surpasses any and is very similar to what you get in Europe. Berries, fresh fruit from a myriad of fruit trees in the property, smoked salmon, cream cheese, bagels, salad, hard-boiled eggs, yogurt, cereal, and homemade zucchini bread, and more, with outstanding coffee and tea and fresh natural juices. The pool is saltwater, and the whirlpool is therapeutic. An ice cream stand, bicycles, and shuffleboard with palace-like seating areas and lounge chairs adorn the pool. You will not want to go, and you will return over and over, again and again. This treat starts with gourmet frosted fortune cookies too!!
The Holiday House was exactly what we were looking for in Palm Springs. Charming, authentically midcentury without being kitsch or cold, and with very comfortable rooms and generous amenities. The staff was very welcoming, friendly and accommodating. Be aware there are no TV's or phones in the rooms, which was actually refreshing. We loved pretty much everything about our stay and would definitely return.
This was our second stay at Holiday House. The hotel is nicely decorated, everyone is very friendly and we felt right at home. Had a very nice room with a kitchenette and outdoor shower. The grounds, pool and hot tub are all very nice. Highly recommend this hotel to others.
Holiday House provided a lovely oasis in a beautiful setting. The pool/cabana area was very comfortable with a fire pit. Our room was well appointed. My only complaint would be that it was quite dark. There was one window but a large tree kept much of the light from coming through. I would have preferred a room with more windows (room #17).
Selection at breakfast was very good. Parking was readily available and it was only a block away from the main drag with shopping and restaurants. Would definitely come back.
The hotel is beautifully designed and well appointed with thoughtfully curated offerings. What stuck out the most for me was the casual but entirely attentive vibe of the staff. It was just the right touch throughout, not too invasive with a pleasant remove while being totally on the ball. They made it easy for us to just simply relax.
We were really happy with our choice of Holiday House, our room was big, bright and fabulous, with balcony and overlooking pool, ( on first floor). The team keep everything impeccable, pool beds straightened at night, cleaned etc it’s really peaceful and the seating areas very inviting. Good breakfast and we had dinner one night which was outstanding. For sure we will go back next time in Palm Springs
We recently stayed at this property and while there were definitely some highlights, a number of issues made the experience less enjoyable than expected.
Pros: - the location is quiet and close to everything we wanted to explore.
- bedding was comfy (down pillows & duvet), and the outdoor spaces are beautifully landscaped.
Cons: - booked the “Best” room type through the Hyatt app ($50 more than base room), which was supposed to include an outdoor shower. It didn’t. After pointing this out, we were moved to a “Good” room that actually had the outdoor shower and patio, and was less $ per night. When I pointed this out, the manager didn’t seem to follow (or didn’t care) nor did he offer much explanation or apology.
- had to wait outside the new room while housekeeping finished cleaning.. not a huge deal, but still inconvenient.
- during the evening, a loud, intoxicated couple wandered into the pool & fire pit area from the restaurant. According to them, they weren’t hotel guests, and it disrupted what should’ve been a relaxing evening.
- at checkout (5am) we were told someone would be available to collect our metal room key. The lobby was locked, and we had to knock on the glass until someone came over. With a $100 lost-key policy, this was super annoying.
- the room’s a/c struggled to cool the space
- bath products weren’t Malin + Goetz as listed in the app
- body wash dispenser was empty when we arrived.
- no tv in the room which we knew ahead of time, but it still felt like something was missing given the price point.
Then…. the messy receipt process (headache). I asked for a printed receipt at checkout and only got one showing the resort fee. After returning home, I called the hotel three times (no answer), contacted Hyatt (who referred me to Mr. & Mrs. Smith), who referred me back to Hyatt, who reached out to the hotel by phone. When the hotel sent the receipt, it only has the resort fee. Ended up in a loop with no resolution.
Property has a lot of potential and interesting history, but the service and communication are in desperate need of improvement. Hopefully these issues are addressed for future guests…
I stayed 4 nights and traveled solo without a car. The location was great - one street away from downtown shopping and restaurants. I used Uber to get around town for hiking, shopping, and eating. The property was tranquil, beautiful and centrally located. The Better room had plenty of space and the bathroom was generous with storage and counterspace.
So glad we chose this spot over a chain—I’d considered a Marriott or Hilton for the points, but this stay was worth it. We checked in Thursday and lucked into the downtown festival—everything’s walkable. The pool had a relaxed, social vibe. Breakfast was simple and fresh (that jam!). Dinner on-site was exceptional—the hanger steak and shrimp corn pasta were standouts. The room had fun decor, though better air circulation for this 50+ woman (a ceiling fan!) would help. Next time, I’ll request a smaller room—it likely stays cooler than “The Big Room”
Once again Chris and his team didn’t disappoint!!
From the pool service to housekeeping everything was on point.
The food is always delicious and so much so that we enjoyed all our meals on property and didn’t feel the need to venture out.
Did l mention that breakfast is free and offers just the right amount of choices, from great coffee to fresh fruit & bagels!! YUMMY
If you are looking for a quiet & chill vibe that offers just the right amount of boutique hotel hospitality, HH is it.
See you soon, we have already booked our return. XXOO
What is not to like? Think Soho Home but on a more personal level. Chilled vibes tick , stunning decor tick, great food and drink tick .
Nice
Adorable boutique hotel in the heart of Palm Springs. Thoughtfully appointed and the vibe perfectly matched the online pics.
We loved the design, restaurant, pool, activities and all the great details. Basically we loved it all! Will be back.
The staff was excellent—very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were clean and well-maintained, with plenty of amenities provided. The location is ideal, within walking distance of downtown attractions and the convention center.
This is a beautiful hotel! The owners and the designers were and are very conscious of every detail. The rooms are comfortable and gorgeous. The beds are excellent, as are the pillows. Breakfast is really good and healthy.
Christopher Gonzalez is the GM and he makes sure every guest is well taken care of. While laying by the pool he brought cold cloth and watermelon slices which was such a thoughtful thing to do and was very appreciated.
My 25lbs Frenchie was very welcomed. The only small recommendation I could make was a trash bin on the exterior of the property for poppie bags.
Little oasis in a fantastic location. The team was fantastic from the time we arrived to regularly coming around the pool to see if we needed anything. Nice and quiet, easy parking, a comfy bed and decent blinds to keep the early morning sun out if you wanted a sleep in. Room air con was also great given the hot weather. Breakfast was a nice touch as were the poolside margaritas :)
Two minor points: a couple of things in our room needed fixing and we would have loved tea and not just coffee in the room.
