Good location
Very stylish, quirky friendly and fun! Lovely decor cool team!!
Nothing
It was a great location and the interior was unique and nicely decorated. Having access to a restaurant in the morning was also great
The location was perfect for walking downtown. We lucked out and found parking in front of the hotel which was a plus. The bed was quite comfy. I also liked the history of the hotel and the lift!
The bathroom and sink area was very cramped. The floor slanted downward in every room. The shower could be dicey with it producing either scalding or cold water until you could finally find a happy medium.
This is a very unique old hotel. Lots of character.
The rooms don’t have fridges.
The history of the hotel
Dog friendly
Great location, lots of breakfast places, friendly. Double Mountain Brewery is wonderful- great pizza, beer, and friendly. Waterfront park is great for walking, but snooty trendy restaurants aren’t good value. Mike’s Ice Cream is a must!!!
Everything was great
The decor of the lobby and the rooms was fun. Loved the vintage theme. The location was awesome, too.
There were some elements that felt a bit dated. Also, my room looked out into the middle "courtyard" with the HVAC equipment. They could do a much better job of making that are more visually appealing.
I was in a historic queen room facing the river/railroad. The room was lovely with a comfy bed, and the air conditioner was appreciated. The location is perfect and easy walking distance to everything in Hood River. Historic queen rooms don't have a coffee machine, microwave or mini-fridge so it's nice to have the free coffee in the lobby and a mini-fridge and microwave behind the front desk to use as needed. Also, there's a 30 minute free parking spot on Oak Street to load/unload your luggage. I found free overnight parking on E. State Street just a couple blocks from the hotel.
In the hotel's info, they mention noise from Oak Street out front. If you get a room facing the river/railroad, you get noise there too. With single pane windows, you could hear all the activity in the parking lot below and the railroad. Ear plugs are provided but they can only do so much.
The hotel provides free ice in small plastic bags (i used these for my cooler). Instead of refilling the bag, you have to get a new ice bag thus lots of plastic bags probably going into the trash. I think they should come up with a more eco-friendly way to provide the ice.
This vintage hotel was in a good location, making everything an easy walking distance. Room was tight but nicely renovated. The room was fairly quiet, but had no view.
As a foreigner, car parking was tricky (when trying to pay for it), but doable. Rooms were very small, with the bathroom difficult to manoeuvre.
historischer charme
bar war nicht geöffnet; sauberkeit mangelhaft
Room clean
Breakfast great
Staff helpful n friendly
The elevator lol
Very clean and well decorated. Location was great!
Hated that we were so cold from the air conditioning on full blast and that we couldn’t control our room.
Parking was awful with there being only one area to park to load and unload. Was a steep street to climb and didn’t trust that anything in car was safe. The man working was very non-empathetic about it.
The location, if you don’t mind train noise
Everything was great, a little dated but clean. My only criticism is not having a dressing table, only place to do hair & make up was above the sink so no where to put your hairdryer or make up. In between styling I felt the hairdryer was just hanging but I got around it by moving a chair next to the basin.
I love the nostalgia and character of this hotel. My room was very clean and surprisingly quiet.I had to leave early in the morning for a hike so unfortunately I missed the breakfast but will definitely enjoy it at my next stay. The location is excellent!
I wish there was coffee in the room but they do offer a variety of treats.
