Really quiet rooms, great history in an old building, fantastic staff, lovely breakfast. Nice shower, comfy bed, our 3rd time stopping here and will be back again!!! 10/10. Good local amenities and access to central London. Highly recommended.
We visited the Red Lion in Hayes with friends after 8 months and were looking forward to a nice evening. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing.
We ordered four roasts and were not offered the complimentary bread basket, which we had to ask for. Later, we ordered desserts, including a brownie with vanilla ice cream. It arrived with caramel ice cream without any explanation. When we mentioned we did not like caramel, the waitress suggested trying it and said it could be removed if not liked.
While my friend was still eating, a manager named Georgia approached our table aggressively, spoke loudly and rudely, did not allow us to explain, and removed the plate in front of other customers. When we raised concerns, there was no apology. Another manager then arrived shouting, accused us of being rude, and told us to leave and never return, causing further embarrassment.
I have never been treated this way in a restaurant. The experience made us feel very unwelcome as Asian customers. Completely unacceptable behaviour from management.
Stayed in the family room which was massive, kids well impressed as much better than the Holiday Inn the night before! Went down to the bar and 2 free adult drinks, bonus! Ordered room service, 2 pizzas, one gluten free, and both were delicious d 10% off, more bonus! Fridge with water and milk in, great service from all staff we encountered. What's not to like ? We'll definitely use again on future trips to London. 45 min to the centre from West Ruislip tube ( 12 min away)
Returned to an inn worthy of the king’s men.
Food remains first class if a little shrinkage in portion that is better than cutting quality to be honest.
In my opinion the bar had dropped in atmosphere a year ago but it’s back in spades. The ale seems to have improved too. Staff are awesome. Friendly and welcoming home.
Cycle friendly too, bikes are welcome to stay in the room with sensible, respectful owners. I have done it many times, don’t spoil it peeps.

Beautiful traditional historic pub and hotel.
We stayed at the Red Lion in January 2025, as a convenient but nice location prior to our flight from Heathrow. It is a small, traditional old Fuller's inn and pub with a modernized wing with rooms. The rooms we had were fairly simple but very nice, extremely clean, with excellent, updated bathroom facilities, very comfortable beds, and overall were extremely comfortable. The older inn building appears to contain some rooms as well but we did not stay in that part. The old inn includes a traditional old pub. It has excellent Fuller's cask ales, character, and good food. We had a very nice breakfast there. Service for both the rooms and in the pub was excellent and friendly. The price was very reasonable. This will be a top choice for us anytime we are staying in the area. The drive (we had a rental car to return before our flight) to Heathrow was short and easy, yet we were far enough away from the airport that it was not like staying at a typical airport-area hotel.
stayed here for 2 nights while attending Oasis concert , cannot fault the hotel really its a big hotel spacious rooms and clean with a fridge , tea and coffee in room and a NESPRESSO which is a great touch , complimentary 2 drinks from the bar on arrival ( any drink ) drinks priced a little high and same with the food but it is London , staff on reception and bar very polite and friendly , Breakfast , wow , fantastic choice on their menu plus all your yogurts and cereal juices pastries etc , breakfast staff are brilliant would 100% recommend this place and will defiantly stray again if we in the area

Nice modern clean room with a good range of tea/coffee with fresh milk which is a nice touch along with the complimentary water, Very friendly staff. We had a nice meal at lunch in the bar.

Very impressed. Good value. Good food. Excellent staff. Comfortable, clean room. Lots of little touches show someone really THOUGHT about making our stay better. Fresh milk in fridge. Flannels in bathroom. Wrapped parcels of butter on breakfast table (rather than ugly plastic pots you have to peel open). And a chef who knows how to make scrambled egg without cooking the life out of it. The coffee's great too; not that bitter acrid stuff many places serve.... the kind of coffee where you have three cups and wonder if you can get away with having a fourth. And the bar-staff were excellent too, and make brilliant cocktails. We planned to have just one, but ended up guzzling four. All in all, great place to stay, and fairly convenient for Heathrow and Pinewood Studios. My only slight complaint is that when you walk into Reception there's a musty smell in that part of the building. Might be damp, or maybe dry-rot somewhere. They need to get it sorted by a builder/surveyor. But it's only in the Reception area and not in the rooms or rest of the building. Otherwise it gets five gold stars from us. *****
We found this hotel very comfortable and exceptionally clean. Service was punctual and prompt, with the staff very friendly and helpful. All in all a relaxed and inspirational stay!
