Visited McAllen for a wedding. Upon arriving, explained to front desk clerk that I was exhausted from traveling at 0300 a.m. from the east coast. I was granted an early check in. This was excellent customer service. Thank you!! Gorgeous property, very clean. Very friendly and professional staff. Lobby is well maintained, very comfortable furniture and very welcoming. Rooms are practically sound proof, could not hear any of the neighboring guests. Elevators and hallways are clean and well maintained. Bedroom is roomy with in room safe, ample closet and general storage, as well as a kitchenette with microwave, dishwasher and full sized refrigerator. Bathroom is spacious with walk in shower.
Breakfast buffet is served daily and the area is key clean and tidy. However, the food selection is poor. For guests staying more than 2 days, they will get bored with the food selection. Eg. they only had “light” yogurt, because the regular yogurt machine was out of order. Oatmeal was extremely watery and lukewarm, every day. Hot water for tea was lukewarm and tasted like remnants of coffee, every day. Fresh fruit salad was only served on weekends. Only 1 selection of milk (whole milk). No options for skim or non dairy milk. (Deducted 1 star for breakfast). That’s an easy fix; please do better. Otherwise, fantastic property. I’ll definitely stay there on my next visit to McAllen. Hotel is a few minutes from the airport, local mall and is across from the convention center. Well maintained and well lit parking lot and easy access off the highway. Fantastic location! I highly recommend this property.
Most hotels feel like a hotel, Home2Suites McAllen feels like a second home. I have stayed here multiple times for weeks at a time, over the last 8 months and have always been pleased. Mrs. Miriam and Mr Jesús at the front desk are kind, attentive to details, proactive in helping with reservations, anything I need for my extended stays, and handling all the packages that arrive for my work. The fact that the rooms are clean, modern, and a good price is good but the treatment by the staff makes or breaks a hotel. I cannot recommend this place enough!

The staff here treated me like a total rockstar from the second I walked in, basically getting me whatever I needed whenever i asked. It wasn't just good service; they genuinely made me feel like the most important person in the place the entire time. If you want to feel like a complete VIP without any of the stuffiness, this is the spot.
