Absolutely disgusting experience at Valampuri Hotel.
Pros:

Some of the staff is good. I left my charger at the property they kindly called me to send it back.

Cons:

We paid LKR 14,000 per night and what we received was nowhere near what was shown on Booking.com. The photos are completely misleading—this feels like false advertising.

At check-in, we opened one of the rooms and it hadn’t even been cleaned yet. This is basic hospitality, and they completely failed. Instead of properly resolving the issue, they moved us to another room that was even worse—dirty, full of ants, and with a terrible smell.

The bathroom was absolutely unacceptable. You couldn’t even touch the taps—they clearly hadn’t been cleaned for ages. It felt unhygienic and neglected.

I even asked to upgrade the room just to get something cleaner, but they said there were no rooms available.

The restaurant food itself was okay, but again, cleanliness was a disaster. Flies were everywhere, constantly landing on the food, and to make it worse, there was no water coming from the filter.

This place seriously lacks basic hygiene and management standards. Charging this price for such conditions is outrageous.

Avoid at all costs.

Cons:

AC remote was not working, couldn’t control Ac, It got very cold during thr night. We’ve had to take off the plug off the wall in the middle of the night.

Pros:

The room was comfortable. We accidentally left back 2 pieces of clothing. When we realised it after 2 days the reception found it for us.

Cons:

Toilet was not great with the flushing button broken.
Service poor. Eg. When the room was cleaned the used towels were taken in the morning. When we returned around 2pm after a long morning there were no towels in the room. We called at least 4 times and the towels were not delivered till 4.30pm.we not only missed out on our next appointment but also had to stay sweaty for the 2.30 hours.
Next, the cloths given for washing and pressing came back very crushed. The photos were shown to the reception.
The ironing facility provided, in my opinion was only a token, poor iron and board.
