So so... wouldn't stay again
Pros:

It was a nice size room

Cons:

The room was cleanish and at the same time could've been a lot cleaner. There was hair in tub, a big glob of hair on the wall beside the mirror. The skillets and things to cook with were terrible. There were 2 forks, 5 butter knives and 1 spoon for a room that sleeps 6. You can't open the fridge if someone is sitting in the chair which was really annoying. The pool was VERY cold.

Let me tell y’all something.

We ended up at the Hyatt House on Sellona Street in Raleigh, North Carolina, 10030 Sellona Street, and it wasn’t even part of the plan. I missed the deadline for the team hotel rate, and just like that, the price at our original spot doubled. I thought I had made a mistake.

Turns out, it was nothing but a blessing.

Whoever is doing the hiring at this Hyatt House deserves a promotion and a standing ovation. I’m talking about excellence from the front desk to the housekeeping staff. Lauren, Shawna, and George are absolute gems. Kind, attentive, professional, the kind of people who make you feel like family the minute you walk through the doors.

And when you’re traveling with an athlete, that kind of care matters.

On Sunday morning, which was checkout day at 11:00, the front desk looked at my daughter and said, “If you make finals, no worries. We’ll save you a late checkout on us.” Now that is how you take care of families. They understood the pressure, the schedule, and what that moment meant.

This property is top notch. Clean, quiet, welcoming, the kind of place where your child can truly rest and recover. My daughter was able to reset, refocus, and recover the right way, and she went on to make finals.

Sometimes what looks like a setback is the Lord lining things up better than you ever could.

If you’re headed to Raleigh for competition, Hyatt House on Sellona Street is the place to stay.

Airport Shuttle
Pros:

Staff was pleasant and accommodating

Cons:

I could not get ahold of the main office. I called the customer service number to get transferred and they could not get in touch with anyone. I was flying in from New York, beating the Nor'Easter blizzard , and needed to get an early check in. It was frustrating not being able to get in touch with anyone on site. The customer service rep was very helpful.

I also did not know that I had to make arrangements to get picked up by the airport shuttle bus. There was nothing on the website displaying that was a requirement to use the facility. I was waiting at the airport for over 30 minutes after I reached the transportation pick up area, zone 7. I booked my stay at this location because I did not have a car and needed to make sure I would have transportation to and from the airport. Luckily, my fiance , who was there for a business trip prior to my arrival, was meeting me at the hotel and was able to arrange a shuttle pick up for me. I would like to point out that there were two shuttle that did show up for Hyatt House, both at different locations. My experience will not deter me from booking with Hyatt House in the future but I will not rebook at the Briar Creek location.
